WALTERS, Martha A. 78, of Springfield died Monday afternoon, June 28, 2004 from a brief but brave battle against cancer in Riverside Methodist Hospital of Columbus. She was born September 13, 1925 in Richmond, Indiana, the daughter of George A. and Leota (Hosbrook) Peters. Mrs. Walters was a 1947 graduate of Capital University, was a member of the Varsity "C", and was an ongoing supporter of their Alumni Association. She began her teaching career in Etna, Ohio and retired after twenty years of teaching in Springfield Public Schools. Mrs. Walters was a former member of Wittenberg Women's Guild and a former member and instructor at the Young Women's Christian Association. As a longtime active member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, she was also Past-President of the Women of the Church and women's missions. She served as board member of The Southern Ohio Synod Council E.L.C.A. and the Mad River Conference. Mrs. Walters also was a member of the School Marms Bowling League. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Stephanie and Craig Miller of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Sue and William Wolford of Worthington, Ohio, Stacey Walters of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Scott Walters of Gahanna, Ohio, Steve and Barbara Walters of Powell, Ohio, Sam Walters of Columbus, Ohio; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Robert Koontz of Farmington Hills, Michigan; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Myrna Peters, George and Carolyn Peters, all of Richmond, Indiana; grandchildren, Michelle Miller and Traci Miller, both of Farmington Hills, Andrew, Margaret, and Jacquelyn Wolford, Bogey and Bitsey, all of Worthington, Erin and Wesley Walters of Powell; and numerous nieces and nephews. KRUPP, Francis C. "Tyke", 74, passed into heaven on Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at 1:40 a.m. in his home after a brief illness. Born on December 6, 1929, in Springfield, he was the son of Bernard J. and Rose A. (Nigh) Krupp. Tyke was the advertising manager of Springfield News-Sun where he retired in 1985 after 37 years of employment. He graduated from the class of 1948 Catholic Central High School. He served on the Human Rights Committee, MRDD, for several years. After retirement, he devoted his life to fishing, the outdoors and taking special care of his wife and family. He is survived by his wife of nearly 28 years, Sylvia A. (Anderson). He is the proud father of six children, four daughters and spouses Sharon (Bruce) Caudill, Rosemarie (Rob) Coolidge of Chillicothe; Susan (Sam) Groves and Dianna Krupp, all of Springfield; two sons, Terry Krupp of Springfield and Kenneth Krupp of Texas; nine grandchildren, Jason Birt, Brett Coolidge, Rob Caudill, Ashley Caudill, Cody Groves, Shane Groves, Katie Krupp and Dustin and Kaci Krupp. He is survived by two sisters, Rosemary "Shorts" Shufeldt, Beavercreek, and Kathleen (Donald) Pavelka of Celina; several nieces and nephews; one uncle, Lawrence Krupp; brother-in-law and godparents Alex (Terri) Anderson; Leon Anderson: two sister-in-laws, Sharon (Lance) Green and Beverly Anderson; goddaughter Nikki Anderson and niece Angela (Matthew) Madtes; nephews SPC Peter Green, stationed in Iraq, and Stephen Green; special friends and honorary pallbearers Robert and Treva Rieger of Germantown and Don and Linda Cochenour. WHITE, Louis C. "Chet" 81, of 2007 Wapakoneta Avenue, Sidney, Ohio passed away Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 8:50 p.m. at the Pavilion in Sidney. He was born November 13, 1922 in Springfield, Ohio the son of the late Frank and Maria (Smith) White. On May 21, 1987 he married Emily (Easterling) White, and she passed away on February 14, 2003. He is survived by two step sons, Raymond Pinson, Jr. of Sidney, Ohio and Fred Pinson of Mason, Ohio; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; also a half brother and sister, Howard White and Ann Daye both of Springfield, Ohio. Louis served in the Army Air Corps as a medic during World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sidney, Ohio. He had been an accomplished welder and was lastly employed as a Security Guard at the Copeland Corporation in Sidney. Memorial services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Aquino was born March 23, 1943 in Bonuan Buquig, Dagupan City, Philippines, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Pedro Aquino. Dr. Aquino and his family moved to the United States in 1973. Dr. Aquino underwent his medical residency training at St. Joseph's Clinic of the University of Louisville and Toledo Hospital from 1974-1980. Dr. Aquino began his tenture as an Anesthesiologist for Mercy Medical Center in 1980. He was a member of the Clark County Medical Society, Ohio Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the American Medical Association. He attends St. Teresa Catholic Church. He loved playing golf on the weekends and tending to his garden at home. He was born in Washington, Pennsylvania June 21, 1917 the son of Charles L. and Amelia (Walter) Smith and became beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He retired after nearly fifty years of employment with All Phase Electric Supply Company formerly W-W Electric Company. As president of his class, he graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1935 which became the last high school class from Oak Grove. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, formerly Auburn Lutheran Church. He had been a very active member of the Auburn Lutheran Church where he and his wife to be became the first couple married in the new church. It had been dedicated on Sunday June 25, three days before they were married on Wednesday, June 28, 1939. He joyfully served in many capacities in the church. He proudly served in the United States Army for his country during World War II in North Africa, Italy, the Panama Canal and the Philippines. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of sixty-five years, Janet (Buick); three daughters, Jan, Bonnie, Nancy and one son Andrew, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles W. Smith of Springfield and Reverend Wray and Janet Smith of Mansfield, two goddaughters, cousins, many faithful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Harry (infant), and Carl. Dotty retired from Owens-Illinois as an insurance supervisor with over 40 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents. Her survivors include her husband of 38 years John "Jack" McFeeters, whom she married November 26, 1965; one loving son Brad McFeeters of Aurora, Colorado; two grandchildren; and cousins Fletch and Bert Mowell and Family of Springfield. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday August 12, 2004 in the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home. Funeral services will be Friday, August 13, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the memorial home with Ministers Travis Mowell and Mike Surgenor officiating. Burial to follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. ROBERTS, Sadie L. 90, of Springfield, Ohio departed this life on Sunday, August 8, 2004 in Community Hospital. She was born June 1, 1914 in Lewisburg, Tennessee the daughter of Sherman W. and Sarah E. (Ray) Jones. She was a faithful member of the Grand Avenue Church of God. She leaves to cherish her loving memory; two sons, Murray (Eyvonne) Houston and Jayson A. Roberts, both of Springfield, Ohio; three sisters, Annie Golden, Maggie Jones and Sarah Harris all of Nashville, Tennessee; one brother, Richard (Roberta) Jones of Nashville, Tennessee; two sons-in-law, Alvin C. Harris of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Willie Reed of Chicago, Illinois; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Herman Houston and John A. Roberts; two daughters, Princess Zenetta Roberts Reed and Eugenia A. Houston Harris; five sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be Friday, August 13, 2004 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. with the family present at 12 noon at the Grand Avenue Church of God, 709 East Grand Avenue. Funeral services will follow visitation at 1 p.m. with the Elder Ronald Cavin officiating. Burial will follow the funeral in Ferncliff Cemetery. Patricia BAUGH age 55, of Mechanicsburg, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 17, 2004 in her residence. She was born July 2, 1949 in Springfield, the daughter of Archie and Marie (WOODARD) HILDEBRAND. Patricia married Rev. Thomas BAUGH Jr. on January 25, 1969. She was a member of the Wesley Chapel House of Prayer in West Liberty. She greatly loved her grandchildren and being with her family and she also enjoyed sewing. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Thomas BAUGH Jr.; two daughters, Joy (James) WALKER of Urbana and Jill (Mike) WOMBLES of Dublin; a son Jeffrey (Stephanie) BAUGH of Urbana; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Belle LANUM of Xenia and Shirley MILLER of Arizona; a brother, John HILDEBRAND of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. on Friday, August 20, 2004 in the Skillman, McDonald & Vernon Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Mabel K. CHATWOOD DERR 93, of Springfield, died Saturday, August 14, 2004 in Mercy St. John. She was born in Madison County, Ohio on July 10, 1911 the daughter of Perry and Ada (CRABBE) KISTLER. She was a lifetime member of Grace United Methodist Church where she was an organist and choir director for several years. She was also s member of the Animal Welfare League of Clark County. Mabel was the secretary/superintendent of Ferncliff Cemetery for many years and retired from Springfield Brass Company. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy TUCKER of Springfield; nieces and nephews, Phyllis GREETHAM of Springfield, Joe (Ruth) CRIST of Vandalia, Jacqueline (Harold) MAGILL of Dayton, Bill (Mary Nell) MYERS of Columbus and Ruth TUTTLE of Springfield; devoted friends, Jerri and Brent KANE, Nancy LYONS, Anita SHOTTS, David MCCOLLOUGH, Bill and Jerry DURFLINGER and Sunni-Bunni.
