He was born in Springfield, Ohio, December 9, 1907, the son of Samuel and Mary (RENSCH) ALSPAUGH. Mr. ALSPAUGH was a former employee at Crowell-Collier, Interna-tional Harvester and retired from Desa. He is survived by two brothers, Robert ALSPAUGH of Springfield and Forrest (Red Horse) ALSPAUGH of California; several nieces and nephews. including Cindy (Bobby) GROSS, Mary HOPKINS, Judy COX, all of Springfield, Robert (Julie) ALSPAUGH of Greenville, Ohio; special friends, Harold Hixon of Enon, Ohio and Nancy Dailey of New Holland, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Helen TOBIN and Mary RHOADES; two brothers, John and Lloyd ALSPAUGH; and special friend, Ada Chancey. Mr. ALSPAUGH was a proud, private, independent and generous man who had the ability to make anyone smile. He appreciated those people who had the same gift such as the employees of Derr Road Krogers, Catdaddy's, Community Hospital and all his thoughtful neighbors. Lee will always be remem-bered for his courage, sharp mind, sense of humor and the way he could tell a great story. "Uncle Bubb" will be sadly missed and forever loved by all. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday in the Chapel at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call for one half hour prior to the services. Norah W. JUNG, 93, of Springfield died at 6:50 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 1997 in Heartland of Springfield following 32 months of failing health. She was born in Oldham-Lancashire, England on March 14, 1904, the daughter of Frank and Jane (Adams) WIGHT. She retired as office manager from Triad Products Company after 30 years of service. She was a member of St. Raphael Church, Catholic Ladies of Columbia, and the Altar-Rosary Sodality. Her survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Louis A and Mary A. JUNG; one daughter, Jane A. JUNG, all of Springfield; two granddaughters and spouses, Andrea and Nathaniel HARMISON, and Melinda and Mark VANNOORD; one great-granddaughter, Vanessa Michelle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis J. in 1983; a brother, Francis WIGHT; sister, Marie PHARES; and a grandson, Louis Stephen JUNG. She was born August 19, 1930 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Raymond C. and Lucille (BAKER) MAGGART. Mrs. PFANCUFF retired in 1995 as a teacher in the Springfield Cit School District after 30 years service. She taught at Emerson Elementary School for most of her career. She was an active, lifelong member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, a member of Daughters of the American Revolution Lagonda Chapter, Animal Welfare League, St. John Business and professional Women Club and was an active volunteer at the Kuss Auditorium of Clark State Performing Arts Center. Her survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and William O. SMITH of Springfield; her son and daughter-in-law, Radford R. and Maria PFANCUFF of Chino, California; stepchildren, Sue and Paul DEMOSS of Carey, Ohio, Bill and Marie PFANCUFF of Arlington, Virginia, Sally and Chuck SCHREIBER of Springfield; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. PFANCUFF. Services will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Allen Dietz officiating. Woodrow Wilson "Chuck" BOBO, 85, of New Carlisle, Ohio, died peacefully in his sleep at 10:52 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 1997. He was born August 20, 1912 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Henry and Nellie Samantha (HARTMAN) BOBO and grew up in North Hampton, Ohio. He was decorated First Sergeant in World War II serving in the South Pacific and Germany. He was a 50 year member of Free & Accepted Masons 100, New Carlisle, Valley of Dayton Scottish Rite, established Bobo's Ice Cream/Grocery & Restaurant in New Carlisle with his brothers in 1948, appointed in 1957 as a New Carlisle police officer, later promoted to Police Chief retiring in 1972 continuing his craft and carpenter hobby skills. He was past commander and life member of American Legion Post 286, New Carlisle and life member of Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean BOBO on June 19, 1988; four brothers, Claude, Willard, Fred, Elbert; and two sisters, Martha and Lillian. He is survived by three daughters, Dee Ann HAIL of Vandalia, Ohio, Patti PETTIT and Marilyn Kay QUICK, both of New Carlisle; two sons, James W. and John W. Page 18. Wilda J. "Billie" (KAME) SCHLUETER, 76, formerly of Springfield, died Monday, Oct. 27, 1997 in her daughter's home in Vermillion, Ohio. She was born the daughter of Walter L. and Hazel VERRICK KAME in Springfield, Ohio on September 13, 1921. Billie was a member of the St. Mark United Methodist Church. She was a 1939 graduate of the New Moorefield High School.  While working at Nolty Brass Fountry as an executive secretary and volunteering for the U.S.O. located at the Bancroft Hotel, Billie met Richard SCHLUETER, an Airforce Cadet. They became engaged December 1943 at the Old Fountain in Meyers Hall on the Wittenberg Campus. They were married in Chapel 3, Ellington Air Force Base, Houston, Texas on August 13, 1944. Returning to Springfield after many of world travel, Billie retired in 1982 from International Harvester (Navistar) where she was an executive secretary.  After retirement, Billie and Richard traveled extensively once again. She was the beloved mother of two children, Mrs. James (Kathay Michelle) DICKEY of Vermillion, Ohio; son and his wife, Richard J. and Teri (NELSON) SCHLUETER II of Yokta Air Force Base, Japan; beloved grandmother and great-grandmother of J. Brett DICKEY and his wife, Pamela and their children, Zachary and Caitlyn, R. Todd DICKEY and his wife, Lisa and their children, Collin and Abigail; a brother, Lester R. KAME of New Carlisle; and cousin Ferryl (VENRICK) PERRY of Mechanicsburg. Billie was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Richard J. He was a member of St. Bernard Church. He was inducted into the Springfield Baseball Hall of Fame Old Timers Association in 1975 and was a World War II United State Army Veteran. He was employed at the Springfield Kroger Company,Buckeye Incubator Company as a sales manager until 1941, self-employed in the hatchery business in North Carolina from 1941 to 1946; was the Deputy Income Tax Commissioner for the City of Springfield from the inception of the income tax in Springfield; was appointed second Commissioner of Taxation; appointed first Finance Director of City of Springfield; and after retirement from City, appointed Director of Springfield Metropolitan Housing and was the Law Librarian for Clark County Bar and Law Library Association. He was one of the founders of Elderly United of Springfield and Clark County. He married Grace (LITTLE) in 1929; she died in 1988. He is also preceded in death by his father; four brothers, Wilber, Fred, Carl, and George. Survivors include a son Robert; daughter-in-law, Kim; and numerous nieces and nephews. POWERS of Springfield; a brother Andrew POWERS of Springfield; two aunts and three uncle, Judy and Richard WOLLENHAUPT, Stephen and Merrelyn POWERS and Phillip HOPPES, all of Springfield; father and mother-in-law, Forrest and Patricia STANLEY of Springfield; several cousins; and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Edward L. POWERS. William "Bill" Franklin WELLER, 85, of Springfield, died Tuesday afternoon, January 27, 1998 in Community Hospital. He was born April 15, 1912 in New Carlisle, Ohio, the son of Edgar G. and Leota (BUCHER) WELLER. Mr. WELLER was a graduate of Springfield High School and Wittenberg University with a Master of Education Degree and a member of Kappa Phi Kappa Honorary Education Society. He retired from the Springfield Public Schools System after serving as Principal of Fulton Elementary School for 27 years and at Hayward Junior High School for eight years. After retirement, he owned and operated Weller's Hobby Shop at Selma Road and Oak Street for nine years. He was associated with athletics throughout his entire life. He was director of Summer Sandlot Baseball for the City of Springfield for many years. He was a football and basketball official and a timekeeper for Springfield South/North Football and South basketball games for 48 years. Mr. WELLER served on numerous community committees over the years. He was a former member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association for 15 years, Hertzler House Committee and Board Member of the Springfield Public School Credit Union. He attended Central United Methodist Church and was a member of Kiwanis Club, Knights of Pythias, Clark County Retired Teacher's Association and National Education Association. On August 9, 1991, he was honored with a William "Bill" WELLER Appreciation Day former students and friends. His survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mildred "Millie" (HENNIG); three daughters, Barbara J., Diane L. and Janice E.; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Richard E. and Sue WELLER and James W. WELLER, all of Springfield; grandchildren, William K. and Julie, Kari L. and Brett GRIFFITH, all of Springfield; great-grandchildren, Nicholas R. and Tyler J.
