Page 2-A. Miss Ruth BOTKIN, 39, of Davenport, IA., died at 1 p.m. Friday in Pine Knoll Hospital in that city, following several months of failing health. She was born April 6, 1906, in Zanesville, O., the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. James BOTKIN. The family moved ot Springfield where Miss BOTKIN was graduated from Springfield High School and attended the Second Church of God. She had lived with her parents for the last four years in Davenport. Survivors include her parents and two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy YEAZELL, and Mrs. Florence BOOTH, of Springfield. The body will arrive in Springfield Monday morning and will be taken to the Richards Memorial Home.

Mrs. Albert C. SHAFER, 89, of 1025 S. Center st., died at 1:12 p.m. Sunday in the City Hospital following an illness of three weeks. Born Aug. 14, 1856, in Logan County near Quincy, the daughter of �James and Margaret WELSH KREGLOW, she had been a resident of Springfield for 70 years. Mrs. SHAFER was the widow of Albert C. SHAFER. She was a member of the Third Lutheran Church and for many years was very active in the Bible Class. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Florence BROWN, of Springfield; a granddaughter, Mrs. Merrill B. WELLER; three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. The body was taken to the Jackson-Lytle funeral home to be returned to the residence Monday noon where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Russell BUSSABARGER, pastor of the Third Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.

Mrs. Eva L. HATFIELD, 81, of 141 Rice st., died at 1:25 a.m. Tuesday in her home. Born in Glendale, O., June 30, 1864, the daughter of Sherwood and Liza DUNN, she had been a resident of Clark County for the past 74 years. Mrs. HATFIELD was a member of the First Lutheran Church; a charter member of Norris Chapter, OES; a charter member and past chief of Modern Temple, Pythian Sisters; a past president of the American Legion Auxilliary, and a member of the Womens BeneFit Association. Survivors include three sons, Harry L., William E., and Frank N., all of Springfield two daughters, Mrs Lula KUNKLE of Galion, O., and Mrs. Pansy GRIESER of Springfield, Route 1.; two sisters, Mrs Daniel GERHART of Yellow Springs, and Mrs. Webster NICEWANNER of Hustead; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The body was taken to Richards Memorial Home.

Mrs. Peter BLUE, 80, who resided with her daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth BRIGHT of 228 N. Race st., will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday in the Richeson funeral home in St. Paris, the Rev. Vesta Lutz, officiating. Mrs. BLUE died at noon Saturday of a cerebral hemorrhage in the home of her grandson in Dayton where she had gone to visit. The daughter of Jacob and Carrie PRICE HEASTON, she was born in Jackson Township, Champaign County. She was a member at the Newsome Chapel Church near St. Paris. Mrs. BLUE was the widow of Peter BLUE. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth BRIGHT and Mrs Frances DAVIDSON of Springfield; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. William J. MCENANEY, 73, died at 8:50 a.m. Sunday in the Gilmore Nursing Home Following a brief illness. He was born in Springfield, Dec. 1, 1872, and was a resident of this city all of his life. Mr. MCENANEY, a retired carpenter, was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He is survived by a brother, Frank W. MCENANEY; two nephews, William and James MCENANEY, all of Springfield, and a niece, Mrs. Mary MARVIN, of New Orleans. The body was removed to the O'Brien-Kenney funeral home where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be in St. Mary's Church at 9 a.m. Wednesday, and burial in St. Bernard's Cemetery.

Born in Germany, Nov. 1, 1873, he had been a resident of Springfield for the past 55 years. Mr. SCHUMAN was a retired molder. He was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church. Survivors include his widow, Frances; a stepson, Earl SEWELL of Springfield; Louis SCHUMAN, a brother, of Chicago; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert STILLLINGS, of Mt. Sterling, O.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The body was taken to the Richards memorial Home, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Phillip R. MAINE, 64, of 1396 W. Rose st., died at 3 a.m. Sunday in his residence following an illness of 10 days. Born in Springfield Dec. 2, 1881, he was a furniture dealer with his shop located by his residence. He was a member of Grace Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Alice D.; six sons, Robert W., Kenneth C., Roger, Philip R. Jr., and James, all of Springfield, and Pvt. Glenn D. with the U.S. Army in the Philippines; a brother, Jacob C. of Springfield and six grandchildren. The body was taken to the Littleton funeral home where services will be held at 2p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be n Ferncliff Cemetery.

CIRCLE, who died in her home at 11:30 p.m. Saturday following a six-week illness will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Grace Reformed Church, with the pastor, the Rev. E. E. Koepp, officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. The body is at the Littleton funeral home, but will be taken to the Grace Reformed Church at 12:30 p.m. to lie in state until time for the services. Mrs. John PENCE Called by Death. [picture] New Carlisle - Mrs. John L. PENCE, 75, died at 3:07 p.m. Friday in her residence in New Carlisle. She had been seriously ill for three days and had been in failing health for the past five years. Born Nov. 1, 1870 in Sidney, she was the daughter of Amos and Elizabeth BOTKIN. A life-long resident of Clark County, she was a member of the New Carlisle Methodist Church, and was active in various church societies until five years ago. Surviving are her husband, John L. PENCE; one daughter, Mrs. Lowell DILLON of New Carlisle; two sisters, Mrs. Samuel J. NEFF of Urbana, Route 2, and Mrs. Frank M. CALDWELL of North Hampton; one brother J. G. BOTKIN of Urbana; two grandchildren; and a number of nephews and nieces. The body was removed to the Jackson-Lytle funeral home in Springfield and will be taken to the New Carlisle Methodist Church Monday, where it will lie in state from noon until time for funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Monday. Mrs Worden J Hupp, 64, of Springfield, Route5, died at 9:p.m. Friday in City Hospital. She had been seriously ill for the past two months, during which time she resided with a daughter, Mrs Norma Sultzbach, 616 Stanton ave. Born June 28, 1881 in Champaign County as Carrie Evilsizor, she was the daughter of John T and Pernetta Metz EVILSIZOR. She resided in Champaign and Clark counties all her life, and was a member of the Bowlesville United Brethren Church. Surviving are her husband of Springfield, Route 5, her daughter, Mrs Sultzbach; two sons, Wendell and Elwood, both of Springfield; two sisters, Mrs Phillip Geron and Mrs Fred Weimer, both of Springfield; four brothers, Frank EVILSIZOR, of Bowlusville, Walter EVILSIZOR, of Springfield, Route 5, Clarence EVILSIZOR, of Tremont City, and Christopher EVILSIZOR, of Springfield; and four grandchildren. The former Myrtle RUNYAN, daughter of Lafayette and Louisa YEAZELL RUNYAN, pioneer settlers in Clark County, Mrs. FOLEY was born near Mechanicsburg and had lived in Clark County her entire life. She was a member of Harmony Methodist Church. Besides her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy NELSON, Springfield, Route 6, one sister, Mrs. Carrie ALEXANDER of Springfield, and two brothers, Lester RUNYAN of South Charleston, Route 1, and Ralph RUNYAN of South Vienna survive. The body was removed to Woods funeral home and will be taken to the residence Sunday morning. The body will be returned to the funeral home Tuesday morning for services at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.

James K. Ault, 71, of Yellow Springs, died at 8:50 p.m. Monday in a Springfield rest home, where he had been a patient for a short time. Born In Clark County, a few miles north of Yellow Springs, on March 21, 1874, Mr. AULT had farmed for 40 years near Urbana before he retired and went to Yellow Springs to live with his sister, Mrs. Sue COX. Another sister, Mrs. Carrie LYONS, matron at the Ohio Masonic Home, Springfield, is the only other survivor. Mr. AULT was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church, Clark County. The body was taken to the Yoder funeral home, Yellow Springs, where funeral arrangements are being completed.

He was a past chancellor commander and life member of Ingomar Lodge No. 610, Knights of Pythias. Mr. SMITH was employed by the Automotive Engineering Co. He is survived by his widow, Mariah; two sisters, Mrs. Amy NUSS and Mrs. Pearl COE of Jeffersonville; and two brothers, Harry SMITH of Jeffersonville, and Ralph SMITH of London, O. She came to Springfield to live 12 years ago. Mrs PENWELL was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Bainbridge, O. Survivors are her husband; three sisters, Mrs Lida GILLENWATER and Mrs Annabelle BURNS, both of Springfield, and Mrs Mae WISE of Cincinnati; five brothers, Arthur, Edward and Theodore HOUSEMAN, all of Springfield; John of Jeffersonville and Charles of Jamestown.
