Rev. Clarence W. Lott, 78, of 133 West Singer Street, died Saturday morning, January 30, 1988 in his residence. He was born June 11, 1909, in Macon, Georgia, the son of John and Cora LOTT. Rev LOTT was a retired employee of the Navistar International and an ordained minister pastoring First Church of God in Dayton, Ohio for 16 years and in Washington Courthouse, Ohio for seven years. He was an active member of the Clifton Avenue Third Church of God and the Catherine Street Church of God. He was active in national and international work for the Churches of God and held many offices. He devoted many years to missionary work in foreign countries which included Guatemala, Barbados, Guyana, Honduras, El Salvador, Columbia, and Grand Cayman Islands. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Mattie LOTT; two daughters, Mrs. Claretta WALKER, of Los Angeles and Toni Joe TYLER, of Springfield; one adopted daughter, Betty PASS, of Springfield; six brothers, Henry LOTT, of Chicago Heights, Illinois, Odies LOTT of Pittsburgh, James LOTT, of Detroit, John LOTT Jr., of San Jose, California, Eugene LOTT, of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, and Ray Dean LOTT, of Rialto, California; four sisters, Mabel TRIPLETT, of Compton, California, Alma CURTIS and Mary WRIGHT, both of Detroit, and Katie PEARSON, of Huntington, West Virginia; five grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren; and a number of great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews including his nephew, Ronnie LOTT, of the San Francisco 49ers. His body was taken to the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home where friends may call Wednesday 3:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday in the Clifton Avenue Third Church of God with the Rev. Donald Cox and Dr. Marcus Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.

He was formerly employed by the W.A.Stevens and Son. Survivors include his father; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Luann) CROTHERS, Springfield, Mrs. Pearl (Pamela) CALLAHAN, Kentucky, and Connie KENDLE; eight grandchildren; three brothers; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother; and wife, Martha Louise (BROWN) KENDLE. His body was taken to the Jones-Kenney-Zechman Funeral Home. There will be no calling hours. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Walter A. (MATHIS) LUNSFORD. Mr. LUNSFORD was a retired employee of D.E.S.I. and was a member of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. LUNSFORD was well known for his talent at playing xylophone. He is survived by one son, Shahied RASHID of Lexington, Kentucky; one daughter, Gwendolyn THURMAN, of Lexington, Kentucky; a brother and sister-in-law, Elijah and Elsie LUNSFORD, of Middletown; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bertha and Clarence LESTER, of Springfield, and Mae and T.L. George H. Kaufman, 74, of 915 East High Street died unexpectedly at 7:11 AM Friday, February 12, 1988 in Mercy Medical Center. He was born on August 15, 1913 in Christiansburg, Ohio the son of Rudolph and Susie (EDMONSON) KAUFMAN. He was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II serving in the 423 rd Infantry of 106 Division. He received numerous decorations including the European African Middle East Campaign Medal with four bronze stars. He was a member of the Golden Lions Veteran Unit of 423rd Infantry. After his service, he was the owner/operater of the Kaufman Market until 1959. He was also employed with the Fink-Heine Meat Company. Survivors include his niece, Mrs. Kathy (KAUFMAN) COLLINS; a brother-in-law and his wife, Howell and Ruth SHAFFER; a sister-in-law, Jean KAUFMAN, all of Springfield; one nephew, Kevin SHAFFER and a niece, Kimberly LONNEMANN, both of Cincinnati; three great-nephews, Andrew L. KAUFMAN COLLINS, Samuel SHAFFER and Andrew H. SHAFFER; and a good and long-time friend, Margaret BRUNN and her grandson, Matt. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah (Sade) KAUFMAN in 1959. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Pleasant Community Church of God with Rev. Marion HICKMAN officiating with burial to follow in Plattsburg Cemetery. The body will lie in state in the church one hour prior to services. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Pleasant Community Church of God.

Charles E. Lock, 76, of 1341 Kenwood Avenue, died Monday, March 28, 1988, at 11:32 PM in Mercy Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born in Enon, Ohio, August 14, 1911, the son of Samuel and Fernie (TUTTLE) LOCK and resided in Clark County all of his life. He retired in 1975 from Columbia Gas Company following 23 years service. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army, was a member for over 50 years of the Grace United Methodist Church, and a member of the St. Andrews Lodge Number 619 F.and A.M. He is survived by his wife, Margaret L. KISTLER, whom he married March 20, 1941; one sister, Geneva YEANEY, of Urbana; also several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by one brother, Robert. His body was taken to the Ingling-Williams Funeral Home, Springfield where there will be no visitation. Services will be held at the family convenience. Burial in Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
