Mrs. Mary Wellinger, of 38 Oakland ct., died Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Juanita Booghier of Dayton. She had been ill since January. She was a member of the High Street Methodist Church. Survivors, in addition to Mrs. Booghier, include another daughter, Mrs. Richard (Mary Frances) Pittman of San Leandro, Calif; one son Harold W. Wellinger of Dublin, O.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, John W., died Feb. 14, 1961, and a son, Carl F., died five years ago. Her body was taken to the Littleton Funeral Home where friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Theodore Choemaker, Pastor of High Street Methodist Church. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery

Miss Jane WHITTINGTON, 63, of 500 Broad Meadows blvd., Columbus, died at noon Wednesday in Will-o-Lock Haven Nursing Home after two years of failing health. She was a sister of Paul E. WHITTINGTON of Springfield. Miss WHITTINGTON had been teaching at Harshman Elementary School, Dayton, for the past 15 years until just recently. She was born in Xenia February 20, 1910, a daughter of T. Frank and Emma J. WHITTINGTON. Other survivors include one sister, Mrs. Theodore GRAY, and a nephew. Her twin sister, Julia, is dead. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Littleton Funeral home. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home one hour before the services begin.

Mrs. Blanche L. HOPKINS, 86, of the Ohio Masonic Home, died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Community Hospital. She was born December 15, 1886, in Lynchburg, and entered the home October 14, 1968, sponsored by Highland Masonic Lodge No. 38, Hillsboro. She is survived by a son-in-law, Joseph M. MCGEE, Sr., and four grandchildren. Her body was taken to the Richards Memorial Home. Burial will be in Hillsboro Cemetery, Hillsboro.

Mrs. Dallas LEAR, 76, widow of Everett LEAR, died at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in Community Hospital following a four-day illness. She made her home with her son, Ernest F. Lear, 808 Champion av. Mrs. Lear was born July 7, 1896, in Clinton County, a daughter of Isaac and Mary Catherine MILLER. She was the last member of a family of 12. Survivors include her son, four grandchildren, Mrs. Joe (Beverly) JONES, Mrs. Tom (Carollyn) CHEEK and Brett LEAR, all of Springfield, and Ernest E. LEAR with the Air Force at Tucson, Ariz., and five great-grandchildren. Her husband died in 1948. Mrs. LEAR'S body was taken to the Littleton Funeral Home where friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home in charge of the Rev. Albert Bitters, pastor of the Columbus Avenue United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Marie WESTCOTT, 77, of 729 E. Central av., Miamisburg, formerly of Springfield, died after a two-car crash Tuesday in Miami Township, Montgomery County. Mrs. WESTCOTT died at 3:35 a.m. Tuesday at Kettering Medical Center of injuries suffered three hours earlier. Mrs. WESTCOTT was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, Harry, at one time manager of a Springfield store, when it was struck by an auto driven by Steen Melgard, 29, of 8149 Preblewood rd., Middletown, the Montgomery County coroner's office said. The Melgard car, southbound on the Miamisburg-Soldiers Home re., failed to stop at a stop sign and hit the WESTCOTT auto, which was westbound on the Miamisburg-Soldiers Home rd., the coroner's office reported. Mrs. WESTCOTT'S death was ruled a traffic homicide, the coroner's office said.

Mrs. Nellie D. SWISSHELM, 65, of 354 Stanton av. died in Mercy Medical Center at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday after a year of illness. She had been a payroll clerk at Speco Division, Kelsey-Hayes Co., for 16 years. Before her employment at Speco, Mrs. SWISSHELM had worked for the Crowell-Collier Publishing Co. 30 years. She was a member of Rebekah IOOF Lodge. Born in Madison County November 17, 1907, she was a daughter of Newton and Carrie MOUSER DYER. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Ethel WATTS of London, O., and Mrs. Rena CLEMANS of Columbus; four brothers, Jack DYER of Hillsboro, Thomas of Columbus and Ellsworth and Leonard of Springfield; several nieces and nephews. Her first husband, Lawrence MARTIN, preceded her in death in 1941 and her second husband, Bert Warren, preceded her in death in 1970. Survivors include a daughter; four grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. McDonald was a member of Serena chapter, Order of Eastern Star and the McArthur Presbyterian Church. She was self-employed as the owner of a McArthur beauty salon for 25 years. Her husband, Charles, died in 1967. Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Beverly WRIGHT of McArthur, Mrs. Marline PETERE of McArthur, Route 2, Mrs. Peggy BUTCHER of Anaheim, Calif., Mrs. Geraldine PUMP of McArthur, Route 2, and Mrs. Jeannette SMITH of Anaheim, a son Michel W. of McArthur, a sister, Mrs. Helen SPARROW of Springfield, and a half-sister, Mrs. Doris STONE of Dayton. Mrs. Weikert was a contract specialist in the procurement division defense general supply center, Richmond, Va., when she retired in July 1970. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, the Sprite-Ly Grandmother's Club, Filiology Club and was a past president of the Jefferson School PTA. Survivors include her husband, Paul H.; three sons, Jerry of Clifton, Va., and Joe and Jim of Springfield; nine grandchildren; and three brothers, Orville E., Virgil and Rodger MCKEEVER, all of Springfield. He was born in Hitchins, Ky., December 22, 1919, a son of Albert and Lettie HAY COLLIER, and attended Carter County schools. On December 23, 1941, he was married to Edna STEVENS, who survives. In 1947 he moved to Hazard, Ky., where he worked in coal mines. In 1950 he moved to the Clifton area and took a job as layout man and welder for Rack Processing Co. of Dayton, where he worked until he was employed by Springfield Udylite. Later he went to Springfield Coatings, Inc. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans in Dayton, attended Apostolic Church of Christ in Springfield and was an honorary Kentucky colonel. Survivors besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Madlyn Joan TITER of Clifton; three sons, Robert, Carl and Lynnwood of Springfield; one brother, Arnold of Grayson, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary EVANS of Mansfield, and Mrs. Russell (Magdeline) PARSONS of Grayson, Ky.; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. GREEN, who retired in 1968 after 65 years in the banking business, died Sunday evening in his home.

A retired cook, he was born in Clark County on January 5, 1900, the son of Orlando and Alma CLARK. He is survived by one brother, Harold of Springfield. His body was taken to the Richards Memorial Home.

Mr. BYERMAN was an employee of the Clark County Election Board when he resided in Springfield. He was born July 12, 1889, in Springfield. Survivors include his wife, Florence YOUNG BYERMAN; a son, Joseph of Clearwater, Fla; a daughter, Nancy FAILLO of Chicago, Ill; a sister, Mrs. Hazel HORTON of Springfield, two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services are to be Friday in Pinellas Park, Fla.

Mary Ellen BECK, 41, 3721 Ridgeoak Way, Dallas, Tex, died Thursday at her residence. Born Dec 18, 1933 in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Elwood WILGUS and Lucille C. TAYLOR WARDER of Toledo. In addition to her mother, surviving are her husband Sam BECK, a daughter Dawne, and two sons, Brent and Gregg, all of Dallas, two brothers, William WILGUS of Toledo, Thomas WILGUS of Nevada, and a sister Mrs Linda TAYLOR of Portsmouth. Mrs BECK was a member of the Walnut Hill Lutheran Church in Dallas, Toledo Theatre, Eastern Star, National Association Music Teachers of Singing. She graduated from Libbey High School, University of Toledo School of Nursing and would have graduated May 16th from North Texas State University with a Bachelor of Music Degree and would of been granted the magna cum laude. She was a registered nurse at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. Funeral services will be Monday 2:30 PM at the Deeter-Baird Funeral Home, Troy. Rev David Matevia will officiate. Burial will be in Casstown Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. No cause of death was stated.

Her body was taken to the Murray Funeral Home, Creston, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Services will be held there at 2 p.m. Saturday in charge of the Rev. Joe Griffith. Burial will be in the Sherrwood memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Alta I.HORTON, 76, died in the Alpine Nursing Home at 11:50 a.m. Thursday after an extended illness. She was the wife of Fred E. HORTON, who died in 1945. Mrs. HORTON was born in St. John, Mich., August 13, 1897. She is survived by a son, Edwin of Springfield, and two grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Woods-Allgier Funeral Home by the Rev. Leonard E. Conklin. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

She was born in Springfield January 14, 1885, a daughter of John R. and Marie LEITHAUSER BURKHARDT. Her husband, Charles M., died in February 1952. Survivors include a son, Charles of Springfield; two daughters, Mrs. Riley (Sue) FRESHOUR and Mrs. Wilbur (Lucille) HUFFMAN of Springfield; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Karl and Julius BURKHARDT of Springfield, and a sister, Miss Kathryn BURKHARDT of Springfield. Littleton Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
