She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester C. BORDEN, one granddaughter, three brothers, and three sisters. He retired as a guard in 1980 from the London Correctional Institution. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Gallipolis where he was active in choir and quartet groups. For many years, he was active in athletics in Gallipolis and Springfield where he coached Little League baseball and basketball. He received his undergraduate degree from Baldwin-Wallace Collect and his masters degree from Western Reserve. He was head basketball coach from 1949-1955 at Kent State University. Robert C. MALONE, 67, of 3125 Henderson Court, died unexpectedly at 1 a.m. Saturday in his residence. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on April 25, 1921 the son of Robert C. and Mary Agnes (PAULSON) MALONE and resided here all of his life. He was president of Malone Vending and Distributing Inc. for the past 25 years and had retired from L. W. Bosart in 1968, after 25 years of service. He was past president of the American Legion, a member of K of C Council 624, the Moose Lodge,, The Elks Lodge Number 51, Fraternal Order of Police, Post 1031 and 8673 (VFW), Disabled American Veterans, Number 397 (FOE), the Union Club, and Northwood Hills Country Club. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. and Dayle MALONE of Findley, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa A. and Alan STRALEY of Springfield; three grandchildren, Kirsten MALONE and Jimmy and Chad STRALEY; two brothers, Hugh E. of Redlands, California, James F. of Wilmington, Ohio; a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles 'Gene' MALONE. Friends may call at the Conroy Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday. She was born in Logan County, Ohio on October 26, 1919 the daughter of Daniel and Margaret (TRAMMEL) DUNSON and resided here for most of her life. She was a member of the Clark County Women's Democratic Club. She is survived by her husband, Harlan E.; three sons, Gary E. of Springfield, Harland D. 'Danny' of Kettering, and Ray M. of Springfield; three daughters, Barbara F. MARTIN and Patti A. SHATTO, both of Springfield, and Peggy S. HOLLARD of Clovis, New Mexico; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Conroy Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Monday. She was born on April 16, 1947 in Springfield, Ohio a daughter of William and Daisy (MILLER) JOHNSON. She was employed in the Data Processing Department at Navistar International. She was a member of the Grand Avenue Church of God. Survivors include her husband, James C. BURKS, Jr.; one daughter, Lolita M. BEARD of Hampton, Virginia; two sons, Jermaine L. BURKS and James JOHNSON, both of Springfield; two brothers, Herman JAMES and William EDMONSON, both of Nashville, Tennessee; three grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her body was taken to the Dennis L. Porter Funeral Home where friends may call after 1 p.m. Monday with the family present from 7-9 .m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Grand Avenue Church of God with Elder Carl V. Kenerly officiating. Interment will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. Her body will lie in state at the church for two hours prior to the services.

He was a member of the Union Club, the Rocco Welch Post (VFW), was a veteran of World War II, serving in the navy and was retired from Mad River Township. She was born in Lynchburg, Ohio on October 15, 1902 the daughter of John and Flora (RUNYON) MINZLER. At age 69, she retired from Community Hospital. At age 82, she retired again from BancOhio. She attended the High Street Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the Elderly United. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Lois) CLAYTON of Springfield and Mrs. Bert (Peggy) HUTCHISON of Dayton; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, John Robert WEBSTER. She has donated her body to the Wright State University School of Medicine. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 1988 at 11 a.m. at the High Street Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Michael Courtney officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the memorial fund at the High Street Church of the Nazarene.
