Pg 2. Funeral services for John F. BUSINGER, 70, of 1021 N. Limestone st., who died at 10 p.m. Saturday at White Cross Hospital in Columbus, will be held at the residence at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be made in Ferncliff cemetery. The body was brought to this city and removed to the Fox funeral home. Mr. Businger was one of the city's highly respected citizens, and at the time of his death was cashier of The O.S. Kelly Co., and treasurer of The Reeser Plant Co. He had been a patient at the hospital for the last two weeks. Mr. Businger was a native of Pennsylvania, and had been a resident of this city for 40 years. He was a member of St. Andrews Lodge, F. and A.M., and of the Covenant Presbyterian Church. He was an elder of the church and clerk of the elder's sessions. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Emma BUSINGER; two sons, Roger T. BUSINGER of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Donald T. BUSINGER of this city; and a sister, Mrs. Anna SMITH of Heizer, Kan.

Page 2. Daniel GAIER, stone contractor, died at 6:20 a.m. Monday at his home, 236 East st., following a long illness. He was a native of Germany, coming to America when a young man. His wife died 10 years ago. He was a member of St. Bernard Church. He is survived by one son, Charles W. GAIER, and two daughters, Mrs. A. J. DINGLEDEIN and Mrs. J. E. STRAYER of Canton; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at St. Bernard Church. Burial will be made in St. Bernard cemetery.

MCDONOUGH, NORTH Name of Newspaper is Daily News, Springfield, OH on Monday, June 22, 1931

Following an illness of seven months, Mrs. Sarah T. MCDONOUGH, 1319 Mount st. died at 2:25 p.m. Sunday at her home. She was the widow of Michael MCDONOUGH, who died in 1927. Mrs. MCDONOUGH was born in County Mayo, Ireland, and came to this country when a young girl. She had lived in Springfield for the last 12 years. Prior to coming here, she had lived on a farm near South Charleston. She was a member of St. Raphael Church, and of the Married Ladies Sodality of that church. Surviving her are two sons, Stephen and Patrick MCDONOUGH; four daughters, Mrs. Paul NORTH, Catherine, Sarah and Ann MCDONOUGH of Columbus, and seven grandchildren.

GRAHAM, HESS, SMILEY Name of Newspaper is Daily News, Springfield, OH on Thursday, August 20, 1931

According to word received in this city, David F. GRAHAM, 69, a member of Clark Lodge, No. 101, Free and Accepted Masons, for a number of years, died suddenly at Belle River, Ontario, Wednesday. The telegram announcing the death of Mr. GRAHAM was received by George H. HESS, secretary of Clark Lodge. Mr. GRAHAM had been in failing health for the last year. He had lived in Granville, O., for a number of years. A brother, John S. GRAHAM; and a sister, Mrs. Mary G. SMILEY, both of Granville, survive. Funeral services will be held Saturday in Columbus.

Funeral services for Frances Ellen NORMAN, 10, who died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen NORMAN of 1835 S. Belmont av., were held at Jackson funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Burial was made in Ferncliff Cemetery. Both funeral and burial were private. Besides her parents, she leaves five brothers, Kenneth, William, James, Chester and John; and two sisters, Maude and Gertrude. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Mrs Louisa EVILSIZOR, 62,wife of Henry A EVILSIZOR, , died at 4 a.m. Saturday at her home, 1201 W Pleasant St, after an illness of two months. Mrs Evilsizor had been a resident of Springfield for the last nine years, and of Clark County for the last 27 years. She was born in Champaign County, where she spent the early part of her life. While residing in Springfield, she attended the Grace M E Church in Terre Haute. Surviving are her husband, three daughters, Christine EVILSIZOR, at home, Mrs. Bertha Harris of Cleveland; and Mrs Geneva Williams of Springfield; a son, Harold Evilsizor; five brothers, Lorenzo and Frank Eipper of New Moorefield, Elmer Eipper of Montrose, Colo, Henry Eipper of Tremont City, Oliver Eipper of Rosewood, OH; two sisters, Mrs Ida. Davis of Troy, OH and Mrs Alice Gerhardt of Terre Haute, OH, and two grandchildren. He had been in excellent health up to the time of his death, which was caused by a heart attack. Surviving are five sons: C.A. South and C.E. South of Chicago, Ill; Harold B South and Nelson R South of Daytona, O; two brothers Henry South of Kings Creek, O.; and J.E. South of Columbus, O.; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Kings Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be made in Kings Creek Cemetery.

James BRITTON, 36, residing on a farm two miles north of here, died yesterday in a hospital in Georgetown, KY, of injuries sustained Tuesday night near Georgetown in an automobile truck collision, according to word received in this town. BRITTON, according to reports was repairing a tire back of his truck when he was struck by an automobile driven by W. D. Easly of Berea, Ky., who was blinded by the lights of an approaching car. BRITTON moved to the farm north of here about three years ago from Greenville, Tenn. He and his brother, Kenneth BRITTON, who resides on the H. D. FUNDERBURG farm had purchased a truck and were moving back to Greenville. Accompanying the truck were two automobiles , one bearing Mrs. James BRITTON and her two children, and the other bearing M r. and Mrs. Kenneth BRITTON and their seven children. The truck was loaded with the Kenneth BRITTON household goods. They left here Monday and were planning to return in a few days for the James BRITTON household goods. While no information was received here concerning the disposition of the body, it is believed that it will be taken to Greenville for funeral services and burial.

Page 15. Mrs. Frances FOLEY MOWER (Mrs. Carl K. MOWER), died about 1 a.m. Monday at her home, 125 W. Ward st. She was the daughter of James and Mary MARSH FOLEY, one of the pioneer families of Clark County. She was married to Carl K. MOWER May 8, 1899. Mrs. MOWER spent most of her life in Springfield where she was prominent socially. She was also active in the business circles of the city, having conducted a gift shop in the Fahien-Tehan bldg. for 16 years. She leaves a wide circle of friends. Mrs. MOWER had a kind and thoughful disposition, and made and held her friends easily. She was member of the Springfield Country Club, the Woman's Club, and the Woman's Town Club, also of the Covenant Presbyterian Church. She leaves a sister, Miss Marie FOLEY, of this city; one brother, John M. FOLEY of Dayton; a niece, Mrs. George S. KAIGHOE, Jr. of Glen Ridge, N.J. and the following nephews; James F. Celebrated with solemn high mass, the funeral services of Mrs. Helen GIBSON MURTY, 32, who died Monday at her home in Akron, will be held at 9 am Thursday at the St Raphael Church. Burial will be made in Calvary Cemetery. The death of Mrs. MURTY came as a distinct shock to her many friends. Pallbearers will be: Thomas KALIHER, Paul RUSSELL, Joseph HACKETT, Norman TORLINA, Pat O'TOOLE and William SWORDS. Many handsome floral tributes were received at the Gibson home, 132 Selma Rd, where Mrs. MURTY formerly lived, before making her home in Akron. She was a graduate of the St Raphael schools and belonged to the St Raphael Church. Her husband, William MURTY, who survives her, was formerly managing editor of The Morning Sun.

Following an illness of ptomaine poisoning, Cassius M. DEPP, 59, died at 6:30 pm Tuesday at his home, 125 W. Pleasant St. He was a night watchman at The Home Store. Mr. DEPP had lived in Springfield for 35 years. He was a member of the United Brethern of Friendship Diamond Lodge, No 37, and Camp No 7, American Woodmen. He was born in Urbana, O. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Dora DEPP; one brother, Miles DEPP of Urbana, and a sister, Lydia DEPP also of Urbana. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm at the St John Baptist Church in charge of the lodges to which he belonged. Burial will be made in Ferncliff Cemetery.

Just as he was read to start for his duties as janitor of Memorial Hall Friday evening, George Thomas SPEERS, 61, was stricken with apoplexy at his home, 719 Sherman av., and died at 11:45 p.m. He was a lifelong resident of this city. He had been janitor at Memorial Hall for 14 years. He was a member of the North Street A. M. E. Church. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Fannie SPEERS; three children, Mrs. Juanita SAMUEL of Xenia, Benjamin and Stacey SPEERS of this city; two grandchildren; one brother, R. L. SPEERS; and a sister, Mrs. Mary LYMAN of Marysville, O. The body was taken to the Wilborn funeral parlors.

Death claimed Albert D. HEINDEL, Sr., 74, at 4 p.m. Friday at his home on the Urbana pk. He had been ill for four months. He was the tax assessor for New Moorefield township, and also the Republican central committeeman of the township. Mr. HEINDEL was a native of Clark County, and had resided in the county during his entire life. He had been active in politics for a number of years, and had the distinction of holding the office as tax assessor, formerly an appointive position and now a post held under civil service, in New Moorefield township for more than 40 years, in addition to his activities in Republication politics. He was a member of the Fourth Lutheran Church of Springfield, and of Tremont Grange No. 90. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Anna M. HEINDEL; three sons, Wesley, William H. and Albert HEINDEL, Jr.; all of Clark County; three daughters, Mrs. Mary SUTTON of Springfield, Mrs. Emma BOGER of Dayton, and Miss Mildred HEINDEL of Springfield, a public health nurse; two grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. A. She numbered many friends in Springfield who will mourn their loss. Besides the sister at whose home she died, she leaves two brothers, M. N. CHERRY and George CHERRY, both of this city. The body will be brought to Springfield and taken to the Jackson funeral home, where funeral services will be held Monday. Burial will be made in Washington Court House.

Page 12. Following an illness of two and one-half years, A. Woodrow WARNER, a former resident of Springfield, died Tuesday at his home, 1806 N. Main st., Dayton, O. He had been in failing health since the death of his son, Frank, three years ago at the Miami Valley Hospital, following an operation. Mr. WARNER was one of the most highly esteemed and best known of the United Commerical Travellers of Ohio, and had filled each office in that organization in a creditable manner. He was a charter member of the Columbus United Commerical Travellers at the time he was identified with the Monypenny Hammond Co. of that city. Later he transferred his membership to Springfield, being associated with the Ross W. Weir and Co. of Nwe York, being their representative in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana and Pennsylvania. In the later years he was with the J. K. McIntire Co., of Dayton, but failing health necessitated his retirement from the road. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, and up to the time of his illness had been an active member of the J. B. Gilbert Bible Class of the First Lutheran Sunday School. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Sara WARNER, two daughters, the Misses Hazel and Ruth; one son, Arch; and a grandson. Page 12. J. Elwood MYERS, 53, formerly head of the Elwood Myers Co. of this city, died Wednesday at his home in Brookline, Mass. He went to Mass. about 10 years ago. He was formerly vice president, treasurer and general manager of The Elwood Myers Co., this industry now being operated by the W. F. Robertson Steel and Iron Works. Besides the interests of the company, which bore his name, Mr. Myers was secretary of the Champion Chemical Co. and president of the Foos Gas Engine Co. He participated in many of the philanthropic drives of the city. At the time he left Springfield he was in ill health. He formerly made his home at 258 Arlington av. After suffering a nervous breakdown, he resigned as general manager of the Elwood Myers Co., but still remained on the board of directors. He leaves a host of friends and former business associates in this city. Surviving Mr. Myers are: His mother, Mrs. Annetta MYERS of Springfield; his widow, Mrs. Ruth CROWELL MYERS of Brookline; and five children, Allice, Ruth, Elizabeth, John and Marion MYERS, all of Brookline. Funeral services held in the Mass. city Saturday afternoon, with burial there.

MCDONALD, former Springfield resident, died at his home in Indianapolis, Ind., at 1:30 o'clock Sunday morning of pleural pneumonia, following a four days' illness, according to word received Thursday. He was born Jan 7, 1882, in this city the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wesley MCDONALD. In early childhood he moved with his parents and family to St. Marys, O., where his father was connected with the state board of public work. He received his grade and high school education there, and after finishing high school, he returned to Springfield to attend college. After leaving college, Mr. MCDONALD began his business career with the L. E. and W. railroad at St. Marys. He was married there on June 11, 1907 to Miss May MCINTIRE, where they continued to make their home until several years later, when he again returned to Springfield to enter the offices of the Big Four railroad. He was later transferred to Youngstown, O., where he remained for several years. He relinquished that position to become affiliated with the Retail Druggists Mutual Fire Insurance Co. of Cincinnati, as Indiana state representative, which position he held at the time of his death. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. May McDONALD, and one daughter, Clarabelle, of Indianapolis; his mother, Mrs. Belle MCDONALD; a brother, Fred MCDONALD, and a sister, Mrs. A. L. FOLEY, all of Springfield,; a half-sister, Mrs. C. W. TOLAND **of Minneapolis, Minn. and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral was held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in St. Marys. Burial was made at Elm Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Belle MCDONALD and Mrs. Arthur FOLEY were called to Indianapolis Saturday evening, but failed to reach there before their son and brother had passed away. Those attending the funeral from Springfield were: Mrs. Belle MCDONALD, Mr. and Mrs. A. L FOLEY and daughter, Barbara Lou; Mr. and Mrs. F. G. MCDONALD, Mrs. Ellen TOLAND and Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Elizabeth SCHEERSCHMIDT, 79, who died at 2:10 pm Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary SHEELY, on the South Charleston pk., will be held at the residence at 2;00 pm wednesday. Burial will be made in Ferncliff Cemetery. she had been ill for two weeks. Born in Germany, Mrs. Scheerschmidt came to Springfield when she was four years of age and has lived in Clark County since. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Zion Ladies Aid Society. Surviving her are three sons, Edward, and Peter SCHEERSCHMIDT of Springfield and George SCHEERSCHMIDT of Columbus; two daughters Mrs. SHEELEY and Mrs. Harry HOOVER of Centerville, Ind; one sister Mrs. J. P. FRANK of Springfield; one brother, Henry SCHRAMM of Springfield; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

BUCHER, MERRILL, THOMAS, WELLER Name of Newspaper is Daily News, Springfield, OH on Tuesday, February 2, 1932

Mrs. Jennie BUCHER, aged resident of New Carlisle, died last Friday evening at 6 o'clock as the result of a fall at the foot of her cellar steps. Her husband W. L. BUCHER, had gone to the barn and Mrs. BUCHER went to the cellar for a can of fruit for supper. When Mr. BUCHER returned to the house, he missed Mrs. BUCHER and when he began searching for her, found her at the foot of the cellar stairs. Mrs. BUCHER was conscious and was able to walk upstairs, with the aid of her husband. A physician was summoned, but Mrs. BUCHER died in a few minutes from shock and heart failure. It is thought she probably suffered a hemorrage of the brain. Besides her husband, two children survive; Charles BUCHER and Mrs. Leota WELLER. There are three grandchildren, Betty BUCHER and William and MERRILL WELLER all of Springfield. She also leaves two brothers and one sister. Mrs. BUCHER has been a resident of New Carlisle for a number of years and leaves a large circle of friends here. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the residence, in charge of Doom Brothers. Rev. J. E. THOMAS was the officiating minister. Burial was in New Carlisle cemetery. For the present Mr. BUCHER is making his home with his daughter, Mrs. E. G. WELLER in Springfield.

William RICE, 83, died at 8:30 p.m. Monday at his home, 930 S. Fountain av. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and lived in Springfield for the past four years. He is survived by one brother, Rev. Charles W. RICE of Cleveland, and one sister, Miss Lida RICE of Springfield. The body was removed to the Fox funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Fox funeral home, with Rev. L. O. Gordon, pastor of the First Seventh Day Adventist Church, and Rev. Mr. FREY was a native of Springfield and attended the local public schools. He served two enlistments in Co. A, 9th Battalion, Ohio National Guard, and saw service in Mexico. Besides the sister at whose home he died, he leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry FREY of Springfield; three brothers, William, Albert and Henry FREY, Jr. of Springfield. Mr. Gochenour is survived by his widow, Mrs. Louise GOCHENOUR; three sons, Lewis, Frank and George GOCHENOUR; three daughters, Lena, Gertrude and Dorothy GOCHENOUR; two sisters, Jessie and Ida Gochenour and two brothers, Henry and David GOCHENOUR.
