John W. (Jack) LAUCHARD, 67, of 340 S. Main St., Dayton, Ohio., died Wednesday, July 13 at 1 a.m. in his residence. He was a former Springfield resident. He was born in Springfield January 11, 1916, a son of John and Mary (BURKE) LAUCHARD. He was a retired toolmaker. Survivors include a son, John M. (Michael), Cincinnati; two brothers, George and Joseph LAUCHARD, both of Springfield, a sister, Mrs. Mary DESKI, Dayton; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. His body was taken to the Jackson, Lythle and Coffman Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sat., in the Calvary Cemetery.

Helen E. ROSENSTEEL, 86, of 212 Hawthorne Rd., died at 4:15 a.m. Thursday in Community Hospital. She was born Oct. 15, 1896 in Zanesville, a daughter of Elmer A. and Anna EVANS. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Ann) STEWART, Jr. Spfld., two grandsons, J. Douglas STEWART, Columbus, and Dale Evans STEWART, Spfld, one brother, Russell R. EVANS, Zanesville. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Friendship Club, the Womens Town Club of Clark County, the Historical Society and the American Association of University Women. She attended Denison University, Granville, where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Her husband, John L. ROSENSTEEL, died Oct 16, 1973. WELDON D. HAWKE 86, of 2605 Broadview Dr., died at 11:58 p.m. Wednesday in Community Hospital. He was born Sept. 19, 1896, in Clark County, a son of Thomas and Ella E. (FATZINGER) HAWKE. He was a retired carpenter and had been employed at the A.G. Samuelson Co and the W.A. Stevenson Co. He is survived by two sons, Raymond J. GULICK and James W. HAWKE; one daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Harriet) BOETTICHER, all of Spfld; six grandchildren, two brothers, Russell HAWKE, Sr., and Edwin HAWKE, one sister, Mrs. Ruth BURLILE, all of Spfld; several nieces and nephews. His wife, Eldora, died in 1967. Five brothers and fours sisters are also deceased. He was a former member of the Local Carpenters Union. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and Local No. 333 of the International Association of Firefighters. He had served with the Marines during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, the former Judy RILEY, his parents of Springfield, two sons, Roger Allen, Jr., and Kevin, both at home; two sisters, Mrs. Jean STRALEY and Mrs. Sandy SCHWAMM, three brothers, Larry, James and Randy, all of Springfield, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband; Harry ALDRICH in 1909 and her second husband, George WHITE in 1962. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, two sons, five brothers and two sisters. Her body was taken to the Littleton Funeral Home where will be no visitation. Page 3.Thomas EUBANKS Coroner Probes Death of Child ; Two-Year-Old Boy Dies When Struck By Car Investigation of the death of two-year-old Thomas EUBANKS, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lamar S EUBANKS, 1820 Hillside av, who was fatally injured Sunday evening when struck by an automobile driven by Heber P LYNCH, 37, of 717 N Belmont av, was being conducted Monday by Coronor Austin Richards. Coroner Richards said that he desired to question witnesses to the accident before returning an official verdict in the case. The accident, according to police reports, occurred about 7 pm Sunday when the child is said to have darted from the sidewalk in front of his home into the path of the automobile. LYNCH told police that he did not see the child. He said he heard a "thud" and then heard children screaming. He said he brought his automobile to a halt, and as he did so, Mrs EUBANKS carrying her son, opened the door of his automobile and said. "Take me to the hospital". LYNCH complied with the request, but the child was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Death is said to have been caused by a fractured skull and shock. LYNCH, who was accompanied by Miss Helen DUNDON, 1912 Hillside av, said that he was driving about 15 miles an hour at the time of the accident and that he halted his car within 10 feet after hearing the "thud". His statement was corroborated by several witnesses. He was released after being questioned by authorities. The EUBANKS child was born in Springfield on July 23, 1936. Besides his parents, survivors are a brother, Charles Richard, at home, and grandparents, Mr and Mrs Charles W EUBANKS and J R GRAM, all of Springfield. The body was removed to the Jackson funeral home and will be taken to the residence Monday evening. It will be returned to the Jackson funeral home at 1 pm Wednesday for funeral services at 2 pm Burial will be made in Ferncliff Cemetery.

He was predeceased by two brothers. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Clark Lodge Free and Accepted Masons, F&Am, the Knights of Pythias Ingomar and a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Survivors include two sons, Manford, Springfield, Cortis, Urbana; two daughters, Mrs. Fred (MALTA) HOWARD, Mt. Sterling, KY, Mrs. Robert (Melda) DOWNEY, Mesa AZ; one sister, Mrs. Charlie (Zelda) HOWARD, Salyersville, KY; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frona, in 1964 and three brothers. His body was taken to the Austin Richards & Raff Memorial Home and will be send to the Caudill Funeral Home, Salyersville, KY for bisitatio 7-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Rock House United Baptist Church, Salyersville, with the Rev. Roy Coffey officating. Burial in Jenkins Cemetery, Salyersville.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Merrill (Jeanne) WELLER, Spfld.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her body was taken to Jackson, Lytle & Coffman Funeral Home where visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday evening. Her body will be returned to the Ohio Masonic Home, where services will be conducted Mon. at 1:00 p.m. Visitation at the Home will be one hour prior to the services.
