Survivors include two sons, John ODELL of Springfield and Philip ODELL of Grove City; three grandchildren, James and Kathy ODELL, both of Springfield, and Fred ODELL of Grove City; one step-daughter, Mrs. James MCMULTY of Springfield, and three step-sons, Chester BRINSLEY of Pittsburgh, Pa., and William and Frank BRINSLEY, both of Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Richards Memorial Home by the Rev. Robert Paul Hetico, pastor of Fourth Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.

Police Officer Carl HENDERSON dies at age 48.
Springfield Police Patrolman Carl E. HENDERSON, 48, of 2651 Zimmerman ave. died unexpectedly at 5pm Tuesday in Mercy Hospital where he was taken by fire division emergency squad from his residence at 3:42 pm. HENDERSON had complained of chest pains according to emergency squad. Member of the police force for 21 years, he last worked with the detective division. HENDERSON joined the police division March 16,1947. He was a veteran of WW2 and was a member of the fraternal order of police. He was born in Springfield July 16, 1919. Survivors include his wife Bertha, one daughter, Mrs. Nancy HOFFMAN of Springfield; one sister, Mrs. Vanita MACZKO of Colorado Springs,Co; two brothers, Mautz and Curtis HENDERSON; his mother, Mrs. Enos PECK; and one half-brother, Paul PECK, all of Springfield. Friends may call at the Woods Allgier funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday. Services will be held at 2 pm Friday in the funeral home with Rev. Mr. JUNG, a former partner in the Miami Pattern Shop, had been a pattern maker at White Superior Division of White Motor Corporation four years. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, the Holy Name Society of the parish, Knights of Columbus, Council 624, and the Pattern Makers Association. Born March 22, 1909, he was the son of Peter and Cora (USTLER) JUNG. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Patricia) BRUGGER of Springfield and Mrs. David (Mary Kay) DONAHUE of Dayton; two sons, Jerome P. He had been an inspector at International Harvester Co. 26 years until his retirement in 1956. Born May 16, 1890, he was the son of Michael and Mary CAVANAUGH KENNEDY.

Seventeen-year-old Vicki Lynn BOTKIN, a senior at South High School, was killed instantly early Sunday when the car she was driving swerved off a curve on Clifton rd., east of U. S. 68, in Greene County, and tumbled into an embankment. Investigating Ohio Highway Patrol officers said Miss BOTKIN was driving toward Dayton at 1:25 a.m. when she apparently lost control of the vehicle. She was pronounced dead on arrival at Greene Memorial Hospital in Xenia. She was pinned in the wreckage several minutes before rescue workers could get into the vehicle, officers said. Miss BOTKIN was an active member of the high school Spanish Club and had voiced interest in a college education with hopes of becoming a photographer. Miss BOTKIN was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George BOTKIN., 1943 Amanda av., and is survived by her parents; three brothers, Ricky, who attends Maryville College in Maryville, Tenn.; Randy and Gregg at home; and one sister, Miss Lori BOTKIN at home. Also surviving are her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary REYNOLDS an paternal grandmother, Mrs. Barbara BOTKIN, both of Springfield. Her body was taken to the Richards Memorial Home. Born June 26, 1951, Miss BOTKIN was a native of Springfield and worked occasionally for the Board of Education.
