Daniel LONEY, 66, died at his home on the Villa Rd at 1:30 pm Saturday. The body was removed to the O'Brien Funeral Home. He is survived by his widow; two sisters, Miss Mary LONEY and Miss Margaret LONEY, both of Springfield; and a brother Rev. Fr. M.J. LONEY, pastor of St Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held at 9 am Tuesday in St Joseph Church. Burial will be made in Calvary Cemetery.

Clinton D. GARD, 66, of Tremont City, died at his home at 6:10 am Saturday. He had been in ill health for several months and had been at his home for several weeks. He was born one mile north of Tremont and had spent his entire life in and near Tremont. He was a lifelong member of the Tremont M.E. Church. For the last 35 years, he had been engaged in the real estate business. Surviving him, besides his wife, are two sons, Orin P. of Columbus, and Lester H. of Tremont; one grand daughter, Janet GARD; and one sister of Tremont, Mrs Lizzie HUPP. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday at the Tremont M.E. Church and burial will be made in the Tremont Cemetery.

Mrs Lena L. WREN died at 2:40 pm Saturday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Wallace IRELAND, 2706 Harvard Blvd, Dayton. She had been an invalid for three years, following an automobile accident at Springfield, which had been her home for several years. She wa born near Clifton, OH. and spent the early years of her life in Springfield, where she attended the public schools and later Antioch College. Upon completion of her schooling, she went to McLean, ILL, to visit and remained to teach near there. Later she taught in the McLean schools and married John S. WREN, then principal of the school in which she taught. The family home was at Bloominton, until a few years ago when Mrs. WREN accompanied her daughter to Denver and Fort Collins, Colo., returning to Springfield in 1926. Suviving are her daughter, Mrs. IRELAND; one son, Robert of Springfield; three sisters, Miss Olive LITTLETON, Miss Burretta LITTLETON, Mrs. William ELMENDORF, and one brother, Howard LITTLETON. All except Mrs. ELMENDORF live in Springfield. Brief funeral services will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. IRELAND at 3 pm Sunday, with Rev. C.W. BRASHARES of Grace M.E. Church in charge. The body will be taken to Lincoln, ILL where further services will be held Tuesday afternoon, and burial will be made in Zion Cemetery beside her husband.

STROKE CAUSES ARCHITECT'S DEATH AT HOME Robert C. GOTWALD Succumbs at His Residence at Age of 67 Years
Following an illness, which developed on March 24, when he sustained a stoke of apoplexy, at the corner of N. Limestone St. and College av., while enroute to attend a meeting of the new City Hospital building committee of which he was a member, death claimed Robert Caldwell GOTWALD, 67, at 1:15 p.m., Tuesday at his home, 1302 N. Limestone st. Funeral services will be held at the residence 3:15 p.m. Friday. Burial will be at Ferncliff Cemetery. His death is mourned by wide circle of friends in this and in other cities. He was highly respected by all who knew him. Mr. GOTWALD was born at Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Pa., the son of Luther A. and Mary K. GOTWALD. He attended Gettysburg College and Lehigh University. He was graduated from the latter institution as a civil engineer. He had practiced the profession of architect in Springfield since 1890, retiring from active work several years ago. Mr. GOTWALD was the architect of the old City Hospital on Selma rd. and many other public buildings in this vicinity. Because of his knowledge of building construction, he was made a member of the board of building commissioners, which is supervising the construction of the city's new $1,800,000 hospital at High st. and Burnett rd. He was appointed to the board by the late Carleton K. BISER, then president of the city commission and mayor of the city. Before his resignation as city commissioner, Mr. BISER acted as president of the board of building commissioners. Mr. GOTWALD's death is the second within a week of men who had served on the building board. Mr. GOTWALD was a member of the Fourth Lutheran Church. He was also a member of Anthony Lodge No. 455, F. and A.M. and of the Scottish Rite Masons. He had been a member of the Phi Kappa Phi fraternity since his university days. He is survived by his widow; one son, John Luther GOTWALD, two sisters, Mrs. Glenn CUMMINGS of Cleveland, and Mrs. Hubert PONTIUS of Canton, O. Frank X. Lothschuetz Dies Following Long Illness-- Following ill health for the last 10 years, Frank X. Lothschuetz, 46, of 511 E. Cecil St., former city auditor and local business man, died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the White Cross Hospital in Columbus. After a period of five weeks' treatment at the hospital, he came back to Springfield two weeks ago, and last Thursday went again to the Columbus institution for further treatments. His condition became such as to cause alarm several days ago. He was born in Springfield June 12, 1886, and Mr. Lothschuetz received his education in this city, attending St. Bernard and St. Raphael Schools. He attended St. Xavier College in Cincinnati, graduating from there in 1906. He served a four-year term as auditor of the city of Springfield, under former Mayor J.J. Miller leaving the service of the city in 1913. A short time later he opened a haberdashery shop on E. High st., conducting that business from 1914 until 1918. For a number of years following he traveled for the Mason Tire Co. of Indiana. In 1922, he opened the Shawnee Drive-In Service on E. Columbia st., but his ill health forced him to retire from active business some time ago. He was a member of St. Raphael Church and of the Knights of Columbus Lodge. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Gretta Lothschuetz; four children, Rosemary, Francis Peter, Malcolm and Mary Elese Lothschuetz; two brothers, Fred and Joseph Lothschuetz of Springfield, and a sister, Mrs. Oscar Kunk, of this city. The body was to be brought to Springfield Sunday night and taken to the O'Brien funeral parlors. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Bernard Church. Burial will be made in the St. Bernard Cemetery.

William DILLARD, 59, died at his home, 304 W. Fair st., at 8:10 p.m. Monday following an illness of three months. He was born in Greensboro, N.C., and came to Springfield from Cincinnati about 20 years ago. He was a laborer at the former American Seeding Machine Co. Mr. DILLARD was a member of the Wiley M. E. Church, and at one time served on the steward board of the church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Anna DILLARD; one sister, Mrs. Maggie SWYN, Winston-Salem, N.C.; and one son, Lorenzo DILLARD of Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wiley A.M.E. Church in charge of Rev. C. R. Ferguson. Burial will be made in Ferncliff Cemetery.

Mrs. Minnie BROWN MILLER, 41, died suddenly at 9 a.m. Saturday of heart disease at the home of a neighbor, Albert Frock, Springfield Route 8, where she had gone to answer a telephone call. Coroner Theodore F. Schaefer gave a verdict of Death due to heart disease. Mrs. MILLER, who resides a quarter mile East of Enon, went to the Frock home to answer a call from a sister, Mrs. Lena RUST of Springfield, who had called to ask Mrs. MILLER whether she was coming to Springfield. Mrs. MILLER said she wasn't because she wasn't feeling well. As she hung up the telephone receiver, she fell dead. Besides her husband, Cashie MILLER, she is survived by three children, Albert, Mable and Eleanor, all at home; two sisters, Mrs. RUST and Mrs. Mable EBRIGHT, both of Springfield; an d George BROWN of Dayton, O.; and her mother Mrs. Laura BROWN of Springfield. Mrs. MILLER apparently was in good health Friday night, having attended a picnic at Enon, and her Death was unexpected. HISTORY TEACHER AT WITTENBERG TAKEN BY DEATH Rev. Dr. William K. Gotwald Succumbs at Age of 48 Years. Rev. Dr. William King Gotwald, 48, of 602 N. Wittenberg av., one of the city's highly esteemed citizens, who was for years professor of ancient and medieval history at Wittenberg College, died at 3:15 a.m. at the City Hospital, where he was admitted Aug.11. Dr. Gotwald's death was due to heart disease and peritonitis from which he suffered for two months. He was stricken while teaching his classes at the college. He will be mourned by hosts of friends, not only in Springfield but in other cities as well, for he had held Lutheran pastorates before becoming affiliated with the faculty of the college of which he was a graduate. He was known as one of the most brilliant men in the Lutheran ministry. Dr. Gotwald was born in York, Pa. and when a child came to Springfield with his parents, the late Dr. and Mrs. D. King Gotwald. He had taught in the college for nine years. Dr. Gotwald was also a graduate of Hamma Divinity School. He had served Lutheran pastorates in Wapakoneta, O. and Kalamazoo, Michigan. He received his doctor of philosophy degree from Hopkins University. Dr. Gotwald completed his education in Germany where he studied special history courses. He was a teacher in the West Virginia Wesleyan College at Buchanan, W.Va. and at Newberry, South Carolina College. Dr. Gotwald was a man of kindly and genial personality. He took an active interest in the religious and literary circles of the city, and was a member of the Fourth Lutheran Church, having supplied the pulpit on a number of occasions in the absence of the regular parsons. He was a member of the Young Men's Literary Club; of the Scottish Rite of the Knight's Templar and of the Free and Accepted Masons. Dr. Gotwald is survived by his widow, who was Miss Marjorie Young of Brookville, O.; a son, David King Gotwald; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Gotwald Young, all of this city. The body was taken to the Fox funeral home. Funeral services will be held at the residence at 10:00 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be made in Ferncliff Cemetery."

Frank GOCHENOUR, 66, of 259 Deardorf Ave., died at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Community Hospital. Born in Springfield November 10, 1903, he was the son of Charles and Louise GOCHENOUR. He had been a resident of Springfield most of his life. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. George HARPER of Broadview Heights, O., Mrs. Dorothy TITUS of Fairborn and Mrs. Lena YOUNGERMAN of Springfield; several nieces and nephews. His body was taken to the Woods-Allgier Funeral Home where friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Clifton Cemetery.

In Iowa and for a short time in Ohio, Mr. Cleaveland was engaged in telephone work. Before being employed at the Robbins & Myers plant, where he worked for 18 years until he retired about a year ago, he held jobs with both the Springfield Street Railway Co. and the Big Four railroad. Mr. Cleaveland was a member of the Grace Ridgewood Lutheran Church and the Springfield Council, Junior Order of United American Mechanics. His widow, Katherine, two sons Ora and Robert E. CLEAVELAND: two daughters, Mrs. William MCENANEY, and Mrs. Cloyd SMALLWOOD; one brother, William CLEAVELAND of Chicago; and 12 grandchildren survive.
