Karl William BURKHARDT, 77, a well-known local musician, died unexpectedly in his home at 321 West North Street at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. BURKHARDT graduated from Springfield High School in 1915, and was enrolled in the ROTC program at Wittenberg College. He was one of the founders of the All Ohio Six musical group. After traveling the East Coast for 25 years leading and directing musical groups, Mr. BURKHARDT returned to Springfield in 1948 and opened the Karl BURKHARDT Music Studio. He was a member of Local 160 American Federation of Musicians in Springfield and in Newark, N.J. Locally, he was known as an accordionist, entertainer and music teacher. Mr. BURKHARDT was chairman of the music committee of the Springfield Kiwanis Club, and a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. He was born April 15, 1898, in Springfield, a son of John R. and Maria LEITHAUSER BURKHARDT. Survivors include a sister, Miss Kathryn BURKHARDT; a brother, Julius (Juel) BURKHARDT, both of Springfield, five nephews and three nieces. His body was taken to the Williams Funeral Home where friends may call Sunday afternoon and where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held there at 11 a.m. Monday in charge of Dr. Kay M. Glaesner, pastor of the St. John Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the St. John Convalescent Home fund.

Joseph J. KOOGLER, 72, of 899 McCain Avenue, died in Mercy Medical Center at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday. He was born July 10, 1903, in Dayton, the son of Forrest and Alwilda BAGFORD KOOGLER, and was a retired employee of Springfield Township. Survivors include his wife, Grace M.; two sons, Frankie, Springfield and Jack, Huntertown, Ind.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Martha CLAYTON, Philadelphia. His body was taken to Woods-Allgier Funeral Home where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Services at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home by the Rev. He had been in failing health for one year. A retired employee of the Ohio Bell Telephone Co., Mr. Fry retired in 1965 as plant clerk, following 42 years of service. He was a member of Anthony Lodge 455, F. and A.M. , Springfield Chapter 48, RAM, and the Telephone Pioneers Club of America. A Springfield resident most of his life, he was born July 20, 1900 in Yellow Springs, the son of Berton and Lucy HURSH FRY. He is survived by his wife, Mildred HAERR FRY; one daughter, Mrs. Lee (Elinor) MORGON, Urbana, one son, Edwin, South Vienna; and three grandchildren. Mr. EVANS was a railroad signal maintenance man and retired from employment with the former New York Central System at age 65 after a career of 45 years. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church and the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen, Local No. 30. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. J. Robert (Maxine) BLACKBURN of Oxford, Miss., with whom he lived; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Corinne MARTIN and a brother, Floyd W. EVANS, both of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews. He retired in 1956 from the Springfield Machine Tool Co. after 25 years service, and was employed at the Crowell-Collier Publishing Co. for 27 years. Emery L. "Mac" MCKEEVER, 63 OF 222 Seever st., died at 6:25 a.m. Wednesday in Community Hospital, following a brief serios illness. He was born October 22, 1912, in Springfield, the son of Richard and Mary Edna SMITH MCKEEVER and had resided here all of his life. Mr. MCKEEVER had been a machinist for the Morgal Machine Tool Co. for three years. Prior to that he was associated with the Boise-Cascade Co., and the Autolite Co. He was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, a life member of the Moose Lodge No. 536, was active in Boy Scouts and little league activities. He had served as president of the Mixed 12 bowling league and was a former secretary of the Clark County Bowling Association. Survivors include his wife, Ella M., one daughter, Mrs. Dick (Joyce) EDWARDS; a son, Richard Lee; a sister, Mrs. Esther REISS; a brother, Eugene, all of Springfield; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bost, who taught in Springfield and Clark County Schools for 25 years, died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in University Hospital in Columbus following a five-week illness. She was born in Clark County Jan. 25, 1911, a daughter of Guy and Jennie Allen Ingling. A member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, she was active in a number of church organizations. She had been president of the Lutheran Church Women, a former secretary of Springfield District LCW, a member of the Furlough Home Committee of LCW and was active in Church Women United. Mrs. Bost was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Gleaners and United Workers classes, secretary of the Evangelism Committee, chairman of Dorcas Circle, president of the Arts and Crafts Council of Good Shepherd Church, and a board member of the Week Day Religious Education organization. She was a graduate of Enon High School and attended Wittenberg University. The former teacher held memberships in National, State and Clark County Retired Teachers Associations. Survivors are her husband, Charles E., also retired teacher and principal; a daughter, Miss Connie Bost of Springfield; four brothers, Dr. Howard Ingling of Springfield, George and Robert of South Charleston and William of Enon, several nieces and nephews. One brother and two sisters are deceased.

KNISLEY MCKEEVER; one daughter, Mrs. William (Eleanor) MCNEELEY of New Carlisle; two grandsons; three brothers, Paul of Greenfield, Charles of Port Arthur, Texas, Home of Sabina; and several nieces and nephews. Mr Evilsizor had received his 50 year pin from the Masonic Lodge at Lake Worth Fl. He was a member of the Scotish Rite Valley of Dayton and Antioch Shrine of Dayton. Survivors include his wife, Bernette; a daughter Mrs Darlene DEER,Springfield; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and a brother, Harold of Springfield. A son, Jack died in 1963. His body was taken to the Jackson Lytle and Coffman funeral home where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Thursday. "Lew" BADER, 78, who traveled the length and breadth of the land as a trombonist in circus bands, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Courthouse Manor Nursing Home, Washington, C.H., following two years of failing health. �He was born Oct. 4, 1898 in Green Hills, Ind., the son of John and Belle THOMPSON BADER, and had lived in Springfield for the past 59 years. Mr. BADER was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 397; American Federation of Musicians Local 160, and an honorary member of the Harold Barnes Tent No. 110, Circus Fans of America. He was a member of the Ringling Brothers Barnum-Bailey Circus Band from 1923 to 1955, and played trombone with the Sells-Foto Circus prior to 1923. He also played in local vaudeville theaters when the circus was in winter quarters. He was the last of his immediate family. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. His body was taken to the Jackson, Lytle & Coffman Funeral Home where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Her husband, Arthur, died in August 1976, and a daughter Betty Roberta TREGO, in November 1975. Mr Bustle had been employed for 30 years with the Boyd and Cook Paving Co of Dayton. He retired in 1973 from the Carey Paving Co, as a superintendent. He was a member of the Dayton Masonic Lodge No. 147 F and AM and was a veteran of World War II, having served with the US Navy. Survivors include his wife, Esther L ROBERDS BUSTLE; a daughter, Mrs Gail PRATER, Springfield; two sisters, Mrs Tressia WILLIAMS, Bloomington, Ill., and Mrs Abbie HERRON, Mason, O.; three brothers, Arthur, St Petersburg, Fla., Herbert, Danville, Ill. and William, Lincoln, Ill.; five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. His body was taken to the Williams Funeral Home where friends may call Sunday after 2 pm. Masonic services will be held there at 7 pm Sunday.
