She was born November 23, 1899 in Lawrence County, Ohio, a daughter of the late, Ben and Janie (NANCE) WILSON. She spent most of her life in the Linnville and Gallia County [Oh] area. She was a member of the Linnville Baptist Church. Her husband, Albert F NANCE, and two sons, Harlow NANCE and Waldo NANCE, precede her in death. Survivors include three sons, John F NANCE, William F NANCE, Gallipolis, Eugene NANCE, Springfield; four daughters, Mrs Jack (Betty) MOLER, Mrs Gerald (Verdie) FIFE, Mrs Norman (Jane) SWANEY, Mrs Cecil (Wilma Jean) MASSIE, all of Springfield; 38 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a brother, Lindsey WILSON, Xenia; two sisters, Vadie BRAMMER, Bowersville, Settie CRAFT, Kitts Hills. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 1:00 pm in the Linnville Baptist Church with Rev Ernest Baker, Rev Charles Connor, officiating. Burial in Wilgus Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call in the Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, Saturday from 6-9 pm. Body will lie in state in the church one hour prior to funeral services.

He was born in CLARK County, Ohio, December 10, 1902 the son of Earl E. and Hettie (STEPHENSON) CALLISON. Mr. CALLISON retired in 1968 from Steel Products Engineering Company. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Andrews Number 619 F and AM, Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton, and the Springfield Shrine Club. He is survived by his wife, Hazel (ROSS) CALLISON; two sons, Robert S. CALLISON, Elk, Washington, James K. CALLISON, Simi Valley, California; two brothers, Walter and Fred CALLISON and a sister, Beulah COY, all of Springfield, all of Springfield; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Friends may call in the Austin Richards and Raff Memorial home from 3-5 and 7-9 Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the memorial home at 12:30 PM Wednesday with Rev. Wendell Hakala and Rev. Alden Toberman officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Cemetery, Coshocton, Ohio.

She attended the Maiden Lane Church of God and was active in the Women's Missionary Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard L., in 1972 and a brother, Harold FUNDERBURG. She is survived by a daughter, Anna Lou THOMAS, daughter and son-in-law, LaDonna and Fred FOELL, daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Ted MIHALY, all of Springfield. Services will be Thursday, February 12, 1987 at 1:30 p.m. in the Maiden Lane Church of God with Rev. Ralph W. Hatch officiating. Burial to follow in New Carlisle Cemetery. Family will receive friends Wednesday 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. in the Trostle-Chapman Funeral Home New Carlisle. Mrs. Thomas will lie in state one hour prior to service in the church.

ROBERTS, 89, formerly of St Paris and Christiansburg, died Saturday, February 14, 1987 at 6:15 am in the Champaign Nursing Home, Urbana where she had been a resident for a number of years. She was born in St Paris on February 27, 1897. She was the former owner and operator of the "Eat Shoppe" in Christiansburg, was a former employee of Clarence J Brown, a former housemother at Wittenberg College, and a former employee of the Champaign County Aid For The Aged. She attended the North Hampton and Christiansburg United Methodist Churches, was a member of the Champaign County Republican Party, and was past matron of Olivet Chapter Number 538 Order of the Eastern Star at Christiansburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer on September 4, 1947, and by one grandson, Jeffrey FULLER. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs Richard (Diantha) FULLER of North Hampton; one granddaughter, Mrs Homer (Jill) BISHOP of Enon; two great-grandchildren, Belinda and Randall BISHOP, both of Enon; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 pm in the Richeson-Wickham & Atkins Funeral Home, St Paris with the Rev Charles Rader of the Asbury United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Upper Honey Creek Cemetery near Christiansburg. Friends may call in the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Eastern Star memorial services will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 8 pm.

Page 13. Harry A. HURSH, 90, of 67 Carlisle Avenue died Sunday, February 22, 1987 in his residence following several month of declining health. He was born July 29, 1896 in Clark County the son of Harrison and Effie (YOUNG) HURSH. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWI and formerly lived at 510 E. Euclid Avenue. He retired with forty years of servicesin 1966 from R&M Company. Mr. HURSH was a member of Central Christian Church and the Knight of Pythias, Red Star Lodge 205 and Red Star Temple 397. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie M. HURSH in January 1972. Survivors include two brothers, Paul of Springfield and Floyd of Phoenix, Arizona; one sister, Mrs. Esther HAYNES, Springfield; a stepson, Elmo POWELL of Springfield; six grandchildren, Charles BENNETT, Jr., of Florida, Barbara KENNEL of Texas, Larry BENNETT of Calif, Bonnie CHANDLER, Jerry BENNETT and Denise POWELL, all of Springfield; numerous nieces and nephews and eight great grandchildren. His body was taken to the Woods-Allgier Funeral Home. K of P Lodge services Wednesday. Funeral services conducte there Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Chalmer Mattern officiating. John Crain MCGREGOR, Sr., 75, of Springfield died at 1:45 p.m., Thursday, February 26, 1987, in Mercy Medical center. He was born in Springfield, Ohio, March 15, 1911 the son of Harold W. and Kathleen (CRAIN) MCGREGOR. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and attended Miami University, where he was member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was formerly a Vestryman and Senior Warden at Christ Episcopal Church, and a member and past president of the Springfield Country Club and active in various other community activities and organizations. He had been Chairman of the Board of Morgal Machine Tool Company, Inc., since 1965, prior to that he was Vice-President and General Manager of the Mast Foos Manufacturing Co. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (MORRETT) MCGREGOR; four sons, John C. MCGREGOR Jr., Daniel P. MCGREGOR, James B. MCGREGOR and Thomas W. MCGREGOR, all of Springfield; one daughter, Mrs. Norman (Susan MCGREGOR) WHITE, LaJolla, Calif; one sister, Mrs. Hugh (Helen MCGREGOR) MCDONALD, Springfield; 14 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Byerman served in the 4th Calvary, United States Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart. He retired from the Ohio Edison Company following 35 years service. He attended the Maiden Lane Church of God and was a member of the Sunday School state and serves as state youth counselor for the church. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, a volunteer at Mercy Medical Center and was former advisor and Scout Leader in the Boy Scouts of America for a number of years. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Beulah (EVERHART) BYERMAN; one son, Dr. Keith BYERMAN, Columbus, Georgia; two daughters, Karen BEACH Cheyenne, Wyoming, Kendra BROCK, Boca Raton, Florida; one foster daughter, Norma DAVIS, Muncie, Indiana; two brothers, James and Ronald, both of Springfield; two sisters, Lois PARKER, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jo Ann STICKNEY, Springfield; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and numerous friends. He was a member of Honeycreek Christian Church, Beech Grove Grange Number 385, bowled in the Senior Citizens League at Park lanes in Springfield, was a 50 year member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics Number 999, Loveland, Ohio, was an honorary member of the Pike Township Fire Department, served on the North Hampton School Board, and was a original member of the Northwestern School Board, serving a combined term of twelve years. Emma MENDENHALL 84, formerly of Springfield, died Saturday, June 20, 1987 in the Northland Terrace Nursing Home, Columbus, Ohio. She was born on November 16, 1902 in Jackson, Ohio the daughter of Lemerson and Mary Frances (BUTLER) MATES. She was a retired lab technician from Community Hospital, a member of Trinity Missionary Church, and the Rainbow Auxiliary. Margaret WINGET BARRETT, 74, of 1835 Timberline Drive, Springfield, died at 11:10 a.m. Sunday, June 28, 1987 in St. John's Center. She was born February 7, 1913, in Wapakoneta, Ohio, a daughter of Earl B. and Minnie (FUELING) WINGET. After moving to Springfield in the early 1930's she was employed in the office of the Ohio Fuel Gas Company and during World War II assisted Arthur BARRETT, her father-in-law, in the operation of Barrett Brothers Publishing Company. Survivors include her husband, Robert S. BARRETT, a daughter, Anne BARRETT KING, a son-in-law, Long H. KING, grandchildren, Aynsley Rebecca and Austin BARRETT KING, all of South Windsor Connecticut; a sister, Mrs. Richard E. BARRETT, a brother-in-law, Richard E. BARRETT, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Gerald S. BRADLEY, all of Springfield; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. BARRETT a devoted member of the First Lutheran Church was active in various local organizations including the D.A.R. chapter, The Wittenberg Guild, Young Women's Mission, Community Hospital Volunteers, Springfield Country Club, New Horizon Garden Club, P.E.O. She is survived by one son, John C. of Portland, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. William (Linda) HANOVER of Conroe, Texas and Mrs. Donna Faye KOON of Xenia; three grandsons, John David HONOVER of Texas, Bobby Donna Faye KOON of Xenia; three grandsons, John David HONOVER of Texas, Bobby HILDERBRANDT AND Billy HILDERBRANDT, both of Xenia; two granddaughters, Tammy CHAPMAN of San Diego, California and Dottie Jean HILDERBRAN of Xenia; several nieces and nephews; one brother, Doyle MURNAHAN of Ironton; five sisters, Clark RUTLEDGE and Joyce MARKLE, both of Ironton, Lafern BOGGS of Columbus, Lucille FANKELL of Xenia and Vera Jean CHIMENTO of Cedarville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold in 1967. He body was taken to the Jackson, Lytle & Coffman Funeral Home, Yellow Springs. Friends may call from 3:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Jackie Womacks officiating. Burial will be in Clifton Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Mrs. COFFMAN"S name to the Friendship Lodge in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
