Thurman F. TOBIN, 36, died at 3:15 a. m. Thursday at his home, 814 E. Main st., following a several months' period of failing health and a four-week serious illness. He was born in Jamestown, O., Jan. 15, 1906, the son of Andrew C., and Bertha TOBIN, and had lived in Springfield for 25 years. He was an employee of The Everwear Mfg. Co. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Helen TOBIN; one son, Richard; two daughters, Betty and Wanda, and his mother, Mrs. Bertha STIFFLER. �The body was taken to the Richards funeral home.

Mrs. Mary E. FOLLRATH, 78, of 612 W. Main st., died Wednesday at 5:40 p.m. after a brief illness. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage. A native of Springfield, Mrs. FOLLRATH had lived in this city her entire life. She was the widow of Daniel FOLLRATH who died about 18 years ago. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. J. A. KIRCHWEHM, two sons, Daniel and Carl, all of Springfield, two sisters, Mrs. Anna QUINN, also of Springfield, and Mrs. P. J. LAWSON of Evanston, Ill., four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Littleton funeral home, where it will remain until time of the funeral at 10 a. m. Saturday at the St. Mary's Church,with burial in Ferncliff cemetery.

Walter C NEAL, 69, a former Springfield policeman died Friday at 3:45 pm in his home at 1919 W Main St. Death followed an illness of two weeks. Born in Springfield Jan 14, 1873, Mr Neal was a son of John and Hester Ann BOYCE NEAL. He had lived in this city his entire life, where for 23 years he was a night watchman at The Crowell-Collier Publishing Co Plant. Mr Neal was retired from his watchmans position. He served on the police force prior to his employment by the publishing company. Mr Neal was a member of Clark Lodge No 101, Free and Accepted Masons. Survivors are a sister, Miss Carrie NEAL of Springfield; a niece Mrs F.M. KISSELL of Beatty, and eight grand nieces and nephews. The body was removed to the Littleton funeral home, where services will be held at 2 pm Monday in charge of the Rev Paul Pfeiffer, pastor of St Johns Evangelical and Reformed Church. Buiral will be made in Ferncliff Cemetery.

Mrs. Elizabeth DAY, 63, of 907 Warder Street, died in her home at 5 a.m. Sunday after a one-week illness. Mrs. DAY was a member of St. Bernard's Church and of the ladies' Sodality of the church. She also was affiliated with the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, and with the women's auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Surviving are a son, James DAY of Springfield; three brothers, John, Jacob and George Schafer, all of this city, and four sisters, Mrs. Kate DEGENHART of Cincinnati, Mrs. Margaret GROEBER of Springfield, Mrs. Edward STRAUS of Chicago, and Mrs. Fred ROTH of New Brighton, Pa. The body was removed to the Degenhart funeral home and will be returned to the residence Monday afternoon. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Bernard's Church, and burial will be made in St. Bernard's Cemetery. The Ladies Society and the Catholic ladies of Columbia, Branch 125, will meet at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the residence for services. The ladies Auxiliary, Fraternal order of Eagles, will hold services in the residence at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Annie JACKSON, 88, died in the home of her daughter, Mrs. William HATCHER of 915 West Grand Avenue, at 1:05 a.m. Sunday. Mrs. JACKSON had been a resident of Springfield most of her life, and had been a member of the North Street A.M.E. Church for more than 65 years. Besides the daughter, she leaves another daughter, Mrs. Charles SPEAKS of Springfield, three sons, George, Roy and Fred JACKSON, all of this city; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Patterson funeral home. It will be returned to the residence Monday evening. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the residence. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.

After a six month illness, John COMBS, 82, died at 5:25 am Friday in his residence 916 Selma Rd. A retired farmer, Mr Combs formally had lived at South Charleston for a number of years. Survivors include his wife, Oma; a son, Howard S Combs of Springfield; a brother, William Combs of Beatty, and four grandchildren. The body was taken to the Littleton Funeral Home.

James C MECHLIN, 82, of 18 W Clark St, a resident of Springfield for more than 60 years, died in his home at 9:35 pm Thursday. Born in Pike County, OH, on Sept 15, 1858, Mr Mechlin was employed for many years by The American Seeding Machine Co, now the Oliver Farm Equipment Co. At the time of his death, he was retired. He was a member of the Central Methodist Church and served as its librarian at one time. He was a member of Ephraim Lodge, IOOF; Mad River Encampment; Union Degree Staff; Ivor Lodge, No 415, daughter of Rebekah and the Ben Hur Lodge. He is survived by his widow, Emma K MECHLIN; three daughters, Mrs Grace SPARLING of Toledo; Mrs Ruth CULP and Miss Nancy MECHLIN, Springfield; a son, Henry of Springfield; five grandchildren and one sister, Miss Mildred MECHLIN of Los Angeles. Funeral services will be conducted in the Littleton Funeral HOme by the Rev W.H. Fowler, DD of the Central Methodist Church at 3:30 pm Saturday. Burial will be made in Ferncliff Cemetery.

Two month old Richard WELLS of 337 S Plum St died of natural causes Friday morning, Coroner Austin Richards said after a preliminary investigation. Firemen answered an inhalator squad call at 8:07 am to the S Plum St residence, but the baby was dead when they arrived.

Mrs. Bessie R. Campbell of Clifton died of a heart ailment in a Xenia hospital at 9:5 a.m., Sunday. She was 67 years old. Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Central Christian Church of Springfield and a charter member of Fortnightly Music Club of this city. She also was a past noble grand of the Springfield Rebekah Lodge. Surviving are her husband, Rama; one son, Rama Campbell of Clifton; two brothers, Robert and Harry Ernest of Springfield; one sister, Mrs. Ivy Styers of this city, and two grandchildren. The body was removed to the Littleton Brothers funeral home at Yellow Springs where friends may call after 7 p.m. Monday. Services will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Tuesday in charge of the Rev. Lester F. King, pastor of Central Christian Church. Burial will be made at Clifton.

Charles COTTY, 67, of 1745 S. York Street, died in his home at 6:30 a.m. Sunday. He was a native of Bracken County, Ky., but had lived in Springfield for 22 years. He was a member of the Church of God on Clay Street. Surviving are his widow, Jennie; a sister, Mrs. Susie SMITH, and a brother, Herbert, both of Chicago. The body was removed to the Patterson funeral home and will be returned to the residence Tuesday afternoon. Services will be held in the Church of God on Clay St. at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be made in Ferncliff Cemetery.

Jack RILEY, 72-years-old, old-age pensioner, was found dead Monday afternoon in his room at a rooming house n the rear of 304 E. Columbus Street. Joseph GARDNER of 467 Northern Avenue, owner of the house, discovered the body and called police. The body was removed to the Richards funeral home. Indications were that death was from natural causes, Coroner Austin Richards said RILEY had been in ill health for several years. RILEY had worked for many years in Springfield as a laborer. He leaves an estranged wife, a son and daughter, all of Springifeld.

Death was believed due to a heart attack, although Coroner Austin Richards was called to investigate. Mrs. TIPPER was born in West Liberty, and had lived in this city 44 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church. Other survivors include a son, Thomas of Chelsea, Mo; two daughters, Mrs. Nellie HENDERSON, Los Angeles, Calif. and Mrs. Kathryn ROMAIN, Pittsburg, Pa; a grandson, Anthony J. ROSSELLI, and two great grandchildren, Donald and Jackie ROSSELLI. The body was removed to the O'Brien funeral home, where it will remain until the funeral at 8:30 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's Church. Ross M PALMER, 62, died at 4 pm Friday in his residence, 1030 Jasper St. He had been in failing health for three years and in serious condition for the past five months. Mr Palmer was born on Nov 25, 1879, in Clark County, and had lived in Springfield and Clark County all his life. Before his illness he had been a molder and assembler, employed by The International Harvester Co for 30 years. He was a member of the New Moorefield Methodist Church and New Moorefield Council, No 107, Jr O.U.A.M. Survivors include the widow, Ruella, a son, Robert of Springfield, a daughter Mrs Raymond CORN of New Moorefield; and two brothers George PALMER of Catawba and Hubert PALMER of Vandalia. Five grandsons also survive. The body was removed to the Jackson Funeral Home and will be taken Sunday morning to the residence of Mrs Corn in New Moorefield where friends may call. Funeral services will be held at the Corn residence at 1:30 pm Monday in charge of the Rev Lewis Berger, pastor of the New Moorefield Methodist Church. Burial will be made in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

John W HASTINGS, 75, died in the Rickly Memorial Hospital at 7 pm Friday of injuries suffered from the effects of a fall sustained several weeks ago. A retired farmer and railroad worker, Mr Hastings came to the Masonic Home in 1929 from Felicity, OH where he had made his home. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs W.C. BROCK of Paris, KY. The body was removed to the Jackson Funeral Home.

Other survivors are three daughters: Mrs Leo BALES, Bowersville; Mrs Elbet BALES, Ludlow Falls; Mrs Lee DRAPER, Jeffersonville. Sons surviving are Kenneth, Goodhope; Adrian, Selma; Robert, Xenia; Paul, Jamestown; Cecil, Grate Grove; and Carl, Xenia. Funeral will be held at the Bowersville Church of Christ on Sunday at 2 pm. Mr Brubaker, prior to his retirement, had operated a grain elevator at what was formerly known as Brown Station, west of here, for a number of years. Besides a son, he leaves three other children, Mrs Fred MILLER of New Carlisle, C.A. BRUBAKER of Glendale, CA, and A.A. BRUBAKER of Dayton; one sister, Mrs Calpirnia SKINNELL of Wichita, Kan.; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The body was removed to the Trostel Funeral Home here and will be taken to the residence of H.J. BRUBAKER Saturday evening. Funeral services will beheld at 2 pm Sunday in the Maple Grove Church two miles west of here. Burial will be made in New Carlisle Cemetery. Friends are asked to omit flowers.

She is survived by her niece Mrs. Irene PUTMAN of Omaha, Neb., and a number of cousins in Plain City and Columbus. She had been a resident of Mechanicsburg for a number of years and was an active member of the Trinity Methodist Church until the time of her death. She was a charter member of the Women Tourist Club, and served as club critic for a number of years. Miss BUNKER taught school in Mechanicsburg most of her life. The body was removed to the Davis and Byers funeral home in Mechanicsburg, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Maplegrove Cemetery. The Rev. Paul L. Wachs will conduct the services.

More recently, he had been affiliated with C. H. Wobbe Tailors and Cleaners. Mr. STRITCH celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary in 1936. Survivors are his widow, Ellen; two sons, John M. While a resident of Clark County, Mr. BALLENTINE was affiliated with the Ohio Electric Railway Co. In Zanesville he was chief deputy in the office of the Muskingum County Recorder. He was a member of the Clark Lodge No. 101, F. and A.M. and was active in the Shrine and veterans' organizations. He served with the A.E.F. during the World War, and advanced to the rank of 1st Lieutenant in the Reserve Officers Corps. Surviving are the widow Gilbertha; his mother, Mrs. Linnie B. Lodge, No 902, Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was a bachelor and leaves a sister, Mrs. E. A. SCHWARTZ of Columbus, as his only survivor. He was a coal miner. The body was taken to the Wood funeral home, where Odd Fellows sservices will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, with further services at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Ferncliff cemetery.

Rothwell ELLIOTT, who was all his long life known as Ross ELLIOTT, died Monday morning at 4:15 o'clock at City hospital in Springfield from a broken hip. He fell on April 8, fracturing the bone and due to his advanced age of 87 years, he succumbed to the injury. Mr. Elliott lived at the home of his son, Wells ELLIOTT, 346 West Grande Avenue, Springfield. After his wife died here, he closed his home on South Michigan Avenue and went to his son's home, first at Portsmouth, later at Hillsboro and Springfield. He leaves also two daughters, Mrs. Earl KESINGER of Portsmouth and Mrs. Mabel DITTY of Springfield. William E. MCLAUGHLIN, Wellston railroad conductor is a stepson. Mr. Elliott was a molder by trade and for many years was employed by the old Wellston Foundry. He worked there a half century with Mike SPALLACY, John KEARNEY, Pearl RISLEV, and other oldtime molders. Of their number, KEARNEY is about the only one surviving of the crew employed by manager George O. RICHARDSON. The ELLIOTT funeral will be held from Simons and Rogers mortuary.

Chester B. WHIPP, 56, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday in his home, 2127 Larch St., following a three day illness. Cause of death was a cerebral hemorrhage. A member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Mr. Whipp was a maintenance man for the E. W. Fulmer Co. Born in Donnelsville, he had lived in this area all of his life. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sarah C. Whipp; four daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth ELLIOT, Mrs. Louise FITZSIMMONS, Miss Onda WHIPP, and Miss Lola WHIPP; three sons, Robert, Leroy and Ray WHIPP, all of Springfield; three brothers, Lloyd and William of Springfield, and Ernest of Fall City, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs Mary CHINN of Springfield, and Mrs. Florence RINHART of Medway, and six grandchildren. The body was taken to the Littleton Funeral Home.

Lloyd S. WHIPP, 57, died Sunday at 7;08 p.m. in his residence oat 1706 Summit Ave. Death followed an illness of five months. Born in Donnelsville, Mr. Whipp had lived in this vicinity his entire life. He was employed for a number of years in the Hoppes Manufacturing Co., plant. Survivors are three daughters, the Misses Clara Jane, Evelyn Lucille and Elizabeth May WHIPP, all at home, a son, Kenneth Lloyd WHIPP of the United States Navy; Two brothers, William of Springfield, and Ernest of Fall City, Wash. and two sisters, Mrs. Florence RINEHART of Medway, and Mrs. Mary CHINN of Springfield. The body was removed to the Littleton Funeral Home.

Albert F. LEWIS, 88 retired carpenter, died at his home, 203 East Lawn avenue at 8:45 Tuesday morning, following a several months' illness. He was born in Clark County, July 25, 1853, but had lived in Urbana the greater part of his life. He is survived by his widow, Laura Belle LEWIS; three sons, Dr. Lawrence J. LEWIS, Janesville, Wis., J. Warren LEWIS, St. Paris and Howard LEWIS, Urbana, O; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. The body was taken to Humphreys and Son Co. funeral home, where it will remain for funeral services Thursday at 2 p.m. Rev. Roger J. Turrell, pastor of the Urbana Methodist Church will conduct the services. Interment will be in Oak Dale Cemetery.

Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from Byron Furman funeral home, Mechanicsburg, for Mrs. Laura BUMGARDNER, wife of Sherwin BUMGARDNER, who died about 10 p.m. Saturday at her home near Catawba. Mrs. BUMGARDNER was 73 years of age and death followed a few weeks illness from heart trouble. Surviving in addition to her husband are six children, Mrs. Milton VIOLET and Mrs. Glenn LOVELEAR, southwest of Mechanicsburg; Mrs. Alice SHIRK, Detroit, Michigan; Ralph E. BUMGARDNER, Schoolcraft, Michigan; the Misses Thelma and Anna BUMGARDNER, Springfield; two sisters, Mrs. Clara NEER, Urbana, and Mrs. Edward MINTURN, Springfield; and a brother, Albert WINGFIELD, Duvall, Washington. Services were conducted by Rev. C. E. Hill of the Catawba Methodist Church with interment in Asbury Cemetery.

Mrs. Clara J. JUNG, 47, wife of Albert N. JUNG, died at 4:15 a.m. Saturday in her home, 1210 S. Limestone Street. She was born in Fostoria, Ohio and was a member of the St. Raphael Church. Besides her husband, Mrs. JUNG leaves one daughter, Mrs. Virginia CASTILLO, and two sons, Carel and Eugene JUNG, both of Springfield, and two brothers, Celestine and Richard GOSHE, both of Fostoria. The body was taken to the Degenhart Funeral Home and will be returned later to the residence.

She had been seriously ill only one week but had been in failing health for five years. She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy, of Xenia; by three sisters, Mrs Phillip Geron, Mrs Worden Hupp, Mrs F J Weimer, by four brothers, Frank of Bowlusville, Cliff of Tremont City, Walter and Chris, both of Springfield. The body was taken to the Nagley funeral home in Xenia where funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.

Nine-year-old Raymond C. MCDONOUGH, son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick MCDONOUGH of South Charleston, Route 1, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday in the City Hospital following an illness of three months. He was in the fourth grade of South Charleston grade school. Survivors include the parents, eight brothers, Stephen J., James M., Charles W., Paul E., Robert, John P., Thomas and Michael and two sisters, Mary and Margaret, all at home. The body was removed to the O'Brien funeral home and will be taken to the home of an aunt, Miss Catherine MCDONOUGH, of 1319 Mound st., at 4 p.m. Sunday. An angel mass will be said at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Bernard Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Pages 1 & 6 (main). C.C. WARWICK, 61, Called By Death: Owner of Printing Company Stricken in Residence. Clarence C. Warwick, 61, of 142 Hampton Pl., owner and operator of the Clarence C. Warwick Printing Co., New Zimmerman Building, died in his home about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, apparently the victim of a heart attack. Mr. Warwick's body was discovered about 8 p.m. by a neighbor who summoned police. The inhalator squad of the fire department, composed of Assistant Fire Chief E. J. Garrity and Fireman Edward Mahoney, and Claud P. Baughman, Red Cross life saving expert, also was called, but Mr. Warwick was dead before they arrived. Coroner Austin Richards, who was summoned, said that Mr. Warwick apparently had suffered a heart attack about 6:30 p.m. and had fallen backward across a bed in a downstairs room in his home, where the body was discovered. The coroner said he had learned that Mr. Warwick had been in his office during the day Saturday and had returned home about 5:40 p.m., for he was seen entering the house at that time. Mr. Warwick had a bathing pool in the rear yard at his home and permitted neighborhood children to use it. Saturday evening several of the children went to the Warwick home to obtain his permission to go swimming. When they were unable to arouse anyone, they summoned Mrs. Blanche Alexander, 136 Hampton pl. On investigating, Mrs. Alexander saw Mr. Warwick stretched across the bed and summoned authorities. Mr. Warwick had been a resident of Springfield for 40 years and had resided alone on Hampton pl. since the death of his wife several years ago. It was learned that Mr. Warwick had operated his printing establishment in the New Zimmerman Building for the past 29 years, having first established it there in 1913. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. George WARWICK; five brothers, Isaac, Edward, Charles, Logan, and Daniel, and three sisters. Mrs. Lydia KREITZER, Mrs. Ida YEAZELL, and Lillian, but their addresses could not be learned immediately by Coroner Richards, who is attempting to contact them. Mr. Warwick has no near relatives in Springfield. He was a member of the Fourth Lutheran Church, H. S. Kissell Lodge, No. 674, Free and Accepted Masons, Springfield Chapter, Royal Arch Masons, and Palestine Commandery, No. 33, of the Knights Templar. The body was taken to the Richards funeral home.

Mrs. Clara Kloepfer Campbell, 67, wife of Lewis C. Campbell, 1851 S. Limestone st., died Tuesday at 2:15 a.m. in her home following 18 months of failing health and two months of serious illness. Born in Carey, O., Aug. 10, 1874, she had resided in Springfield for the past 6 years. Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. She was a daughter of the late Crist of Cindrella Kloepfer. Beside her husband, she leaves a son Lewis, Jr.; three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Stephens, Mrs. Minnie Compton and Mrs. Pearl James, all of Springfield; two brothers John Kloepfer and Sheldon Kloepfer, both of Carey, O.; and five grandchildren. The body was removed to the Richards Funeral home and was returned to the residence Wednesday noon. Funeral services will be held in the residence at 3 p.m. Thursday with burial in Ferncliff Cemetery.
