This site is for the promotion of free genealogical information about Clark County, Ohio. 

Clark County, Ohio was created on March 1, 1818, and was named for General George Rogers Clark, a hero of the American Revolution. Its county seat is Springfield. Clark County was formed from 3 nearby counties of Champaign, Madison and Greene. The first settlement was at Chribb's Station, in the forks of Mad River, in the Spring of 1796. Its area is about 300 square miles.
