STEWART, GEORGE (submitted by Virginia Bonne Gorton)

[George Stewart died intestate on or about 29 Jan 1827 (evidenced by the fact that on that date Mr. Aaron Shaul charged $3.75 for 6 yards of cloth used for a shroud at John Buckland & Co.) The estate, case A336, was settled Jun 1829. George Stewart was apparently married at least twice, but his children are not known to this extractor; however, his second wife was the Rosanna Shaul, widow of Peter Shaul. (George and Rosanna married 10 Dec 1812 in Champaign Co. OH. Her maiden name believed to be Elsworth, but not proven. Rosanna died between the 1820 Census and George's death.) One bill ($1.00) relates to Harrison Co. VA where the Shaul family previously lived. Many of the Shaul children attended the Estate Sale and have been identified by extractor. Spellings left unchanged. vgb]

Relationships identified:

1. Joseph Stewart , grandson of George
2. Aaron Shaul, son of Rosanna
3. Robert Cummins, son-in-law of Rosanna
4. Edmund West, son-in-law of Rosanna
5. Moses Shaul, son of Rosanna
6. Sally Ann Shahan, future wife of Matthew Shaul
7. Matthew Shaul, son of Rosanna
